Trying to forget the past, he is hired by Kate to look into the whistleblower's allegation and soon suspects that the company may be engaging in a dangerous game for profit. Deadly Proof by Rachel Dylan tells a tale about the medical malpractice engaged in by a large drug company. One of their drugs seems to cause brain tumors. Attorney Kate Sullivan is lead counsel on the class action suit, but when a meeting with a possible whistle-blower ends up in the informants death, Rachel knows there is more to meet the eye than just the suit. When she is threatened, she hires ex-Army Ranger Landon James for security.
Landon digs into the death of the informant and tries to find another. He too feels there is much more going on in the drug company than just the existing case. As they go deeper into the research on the alleged malpractice, Kate is injured in a parking lot staircase by an unknown assailant. Landon ramps up security and brings in a friends company to help, so Kate is under twenty-four-hour protections. At the same time as the ramp-up in securing, there is a ramp-up in affections between the two.
I enjoyed reading Deadly Proof. Dylan writes memorable characters and her research and presentation of the legal aspects of the medical malpractice case appear impeccable. Kate and Landon became real characters to me-the dialog realistic. I so loved the action and the interaction among all the characters-good and bad. I hated to see the book end, and I was happy to see Deadly Proof is only Book One in the Atlanta Justice series. Five Stars!
Deadly Proof is but one of Rachel Dylans adventures into romantic and legal fiction. She has been an attorney for over a ten years and was a litigator at a national law firm. She says she enjoys combining the law with suspense and romance in her stories. She, her husband, and five furkids live in Michigan.
Bethany House gave me a copy of Deadly Proof, but I was in no way obligated to write a review.

IolaNew ZealandAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Legal ThrillerOctober 21, 2017IolaNew ZealandAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5Deadly Proof is the first book Ive read by Rachel Dylan, and Im already looking forward to the sequel (this is the first of the Atlanta Justice series, which means there will definitely be a sequel). I love legal thrillers, and this was no exception. Shes an experience litigator herself, and that knowledge and authenticity definitely came through in Deadly Proof.
Kate Sullivan is one of many attorneys working on a class action lawsuit against Mason Pharmaceutical, who are accused of producing a migraine drug that causes brain tumours. She suspects something is afoot when a scared MPC employee contacts her, telling her the case is bigger and she has to dig deeper. She hires private investigator Landon James to investigate, and he soon finds things which make him suspicious.
The case is complicated by the number of firms involved and by the fact the lead counsel for Mason Pharmaceuticals is Ethan Black, Kates longterm friend. Kate is appointed to lead the case, including the assessing of thousands of pages of evidence. It soon becomes apparent that the case isnt going to progress smoothly especially when accidents start happening.
Deadly Proof is a fast-paced legal thriller that ticks all the boxesgreat characters, solid plot, great suspense, plenty of legal wrangling, and even a bit of romance Recommended for fans of legal thrillers from authors like John Grisham and Cara Putman.
Thanks to Bethany House and NetGalley for providing a free ebook for review.
Mark5 Stars Out Of 5awesome read.. I want to read more by this authirOctober 20, 2017MarkQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I enjoy legal thrillers, and there have been a few authors on the Christian market who have written some great ones. I also enjoy trying new authors, so this was a no brainier to request this legal thriller to a new (to me) author. My first thoughts upon finishing this book were "wow!" and "This lady is really good." I started researching her and was surprised to discover that she is not a new author, and has several published books under her belt.
The legal thrillers I have read have been mostly by men, but Dylan shows she can hold her own in among these guys with this novel. It has everything a reader would want in a legal thriller: Great plot, great and likable characters, suspense, drama, romance, and legal "stuff" that is in easy to understand jargon.
Deadly Proof has great Christian themes throughout it, and especially of trusting God, and forgiveness. The book is an exciting read that kept me on the edge of my seat, and groaning when I had to put the book aside to do other things that needed done. The book had an excellent ending that left me wanting more, and also left me wanting to read more by this author. This is a truly awesome read that I was sorry to see end.
PatsdreamHuntsville, ALAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Fast paced, action packed with murder, mayhem, and of course romanceOctober 19, 2017PatsdreamHuntsville, ALAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Just finished this page turning Christian Romantic Suspense. Action-packed, finding our way back to God when we think He abandoned us. Think big pharmaceutical company, deadly consequences with a recently released drug, murder, abduction, terrorizing an attorney. I started this book last night, stayed up late & finished it this afternoon while waiting in the doctor's office for my husband. My Kindle is great when on the go.
I bought this book and no one asked me to leave a review. All opinions are my own. This is the first book I've read by this author but plan on buying more this week. Just found a new author to add to my "favorite authors'" list at the local indy bookstore I use. Highly recommend this fast paced book.
