Tell us a little about yourself. I grew up in a rural Nebraska town of less than 175 people,
but God has allowed me to travel the world and meet so many
incredible people through my work as a journalist. I love the
outdoors and feel quite blessed to live in the beauty of
Colorado. I enjoy sharing my sense of humor and making people
laugh. (Youll find touches of my humor throughout Two Days

What was your motivation behind this project? God. He truly led me to the theme of waiting on Him. As I
was originally brainstorming book ideas, I jotted down these
questions: Why do I trust God when life circumstances say,
curse God and die? What is it about this God that keeps
drawing me closer to His heart? How has God shown me His
character as Ive waited on Him and endured?
Suddenly my book theme of enduring through tragedy
expanded into seeing Gods character through enduring and
waiting. Then He led me to John 11:6, and the two days longer
in this verse became the books title. My passion and drive for
writing Two Days Longer comes from my deep desire to help
people follow the steady voice of God in all of lifes trials and
triumphs.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My prayer is that readers will come away with a fuller view of
God and His amazing character. I also hope the book
encourages and bolsters anyone who is weary from waiting.
I understand the pains of deferred hopes and dreams. Ive
grappled with the angst and anxiety of waiting for marriage and
children. For twenty years Ive endured chronic physical pain.
Ive braved the years as mental illness crippled and cancer
eventually killed my mother. Ive waited alongside my dying
father in his twelve-year battle with cancer. I know the
frustrations of losing jobs and waiting for promised income.
Yet in lifes postponements and holdups, Ive experienced
the joy and hope that only God can offer. I pray that Two Days
Longer refreshes readers with this same joy and hope. May we
all learn to trust and rest in our always-on-time Creator.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My greatest inspiration is Gods Word. Im constantly
amazed at how God uses the Bible to deliver perfectly timed
messages in our point of need.
A couple of my favorite authors/speakers include Max
Lucado, Beth Moore, Chuck Swindoll, Anna Quindlen, and
Patricia Cornwell. Im also a fan of musical artists Margaret
Becker, Point of Grace, Nichole Nordeman, Jeremy Camp, Chris
Tomlin, and the list goes on.
