If you are going to use this curriculum, please know that you will have to go to Compass Classroom's website to get the book that accompanies this series. He mentions that it is needed in the first lesson on the DVD. I've watched a few lessons. He is very good at teaching history. Overall I am pleased.

My children and I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from Dave Raymond this past year. He has a depth of knowledge that he passes along to the listener with clarity and with humor. The pictures help to visualize what he is explaining and help keep the attention of all who are watching. The lesson length is perfect, long enough to communicate his teaching but not so long as to bore the student.

My only criticism of this series is the push for Calvinism from the teacher. In my opinion it would have been much more prudent to leave out his own viewpoint on Calvinism and just teach history as it was without trying to influence the students toward Calvinism.

That said, I'm sure your children will enjoy learning from Dave Raymond.

We have watched week one. The material seems good so far and inteesting.

This was wonderful! The videos were very interesting. I highly recommend Dave Raymond's American History. We will be using Modernity next.
