As the synagogues of Berlin burn and Jewish homes are plundered, two families face the grim reality of life in the New Germany. Anna Lindheim's sister Helen and her pastor husband Karl Isben are arrested for helping the Jews. The Isben children, Lori and Jamie, must find a way to escape their Nazi pursuers and get past the iron gates that keep them imprisoned in the Reich.
Young Peter Wallich, with his mother, sister and baby brother, faces the same dilemma. How can he, a Jew, get them out of Berlin to safety? How can they reach Danzig, the one place that offers hope, the promise of freedom? And then there is Lucy, in such desperate straits herself. How can she possibly help these children?

Janice Bragdon5 Stars Out Of 5August 12, 2009Janice BragdonHistorically accurate and riveting storytelling. So real that you find yourself praying for the characters like close friends and hoping to see them someday in heaven...all the while reminding yourself, it's only fiction.
Valerie5 Stars Out Of 5July 6, 2009ValerieI have read almost every book written by Bodie and Brock, and each time, God enlightens me through the writing of this talented duo. I have gained a much stronger world view and appreciation for the unending attacks that the enemy continues to aim at God's chosen people. As a Christian today, reading these books motivates me to cover my Jewish brothers and sisters in prayer until the fulfillment of God's promises made through Jesus Christ. Thanks to the Thoenes for their ministry through fiction - you are serving God by educating His people.

Cassandra5 Stars Out Of 5March 3, 2008CassandraThis book is thrilling! Read it, read it, read it! While continuing the saga of previous characters; Murphy, Elisa and their boys + more; "Danzig Passage" also introduces a host of new characters. I stayed up late in the night reading this book because I couldn't put it down... the drama and suspense of this book is tremendous, and added in the elements of historical accuracy and terrific characters, this book is definitely one of the top books I have read in my life. It will make you cry, laugh, smile, sigh, and cry some more! Lori, Jamie, Jacob and Mark's story was the one that affected me the most personally in this novel, it is so engaging and tense. "Danzig Passage" is a novel I would recommend to anyone 13+... buy the series and have a fantastic read!
