IMO, this book is not for the average layperson. I had such a hard time reading it. Instead of the author giving his opinion of a verse and letting the reader decide if they agreed, he went into great detail of all opposing views. By the time I read all those, I was very confused. It was hard for me, too, because of all the unfamiliar words he used. I had to constantly go to the dictionary to find the meanings. I completed the book, but unfortunately, I found reading it a real challenge. I read the author's commentaries on 1 & 2 Thessalonians and Revelation and thoroughly enjoyed them. I am now reading his commentary on Matthew and am finding it very informative. I may try reading it again. Maybe it will be better the second time. Perhaps Walvoord's original version of this book would be more to my liking.
JOHN WALVOORD WAS ONE OF THE BEST BIBLE SCHOLARS AND THIS REVISION LIVES UP TO HIS PREVIOUS WORKS. IT IS ESPECIALLY NICE TO HAVE IT IN THE ESV. THIS BOOK IS A VALUABLE EDITION TO MY LIBRARY. THE TYPE IS VERY EASY TO READ.
