wendy5 Stars Out Of 5comment to maries reviewSeptember 29, 2016wendyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0i have not read the book yet, however, reviewing the comments as a personal trainer i would like to comment on Marie's post- march 9 2016.
All of the things you mentioned in your post Marie are basic concepts needed for lasting change in a weight loss program. Everyone can make time to do them with practice even with an extremely busy schedule and family. i give credit to anyone who sticks with a program as you have mentioned, exercising 6 days a week and 5 meals a day, cooking and preparing healthy meals.. etc. This type of commitment and change in habits and lifestyle is the only way to success.
Unfortunatley Marie, you are looking for a quick fix, gimmick or magic pill to help you- and this will never bring about change.
Christie5 Stars Out Of 5It works!April 19, 2016ChristieQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Finally something that works! I did this plan with a group of friends so we were able to share recipes and exercise together. It was time consuming at first as I was learning to read the ingredients list on packages but once I learned what I can and cannot eat it was much easier. This series is based on Daniel from the Bible and teaches to eat naturally! I lost 35 pounds and a year later I am still going strong! This plan keeps it simple by cutting out the added junk in foods and I am thankful that I found it!
Marie1 Stars Out Of 5what a disappointment!March 9, 2016MarieQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I mistakenly thought this plan was based out of what the bible says we should eat and it has nothing to do with the bible. I also thought that a health system produced by a pastor and doctors would be the best plan out there, I was wrong again. This program is the typical eat your fruits and vegetables and exercise but they say you won't succeed doing the plan alone because you need a group and friends. And you better be able to afford all the expensive food they have on the menu find it at your local grocery store and shop for the enormous list, have a lot of time to cook the food and eat 5 times a day ( personally I can't eat the spices cumin, curry or cayenne they allow), then you need to exercise 6 days a week and meet with your group and do bible study on your own, journal the whole process, do a self assessment of how different foods affect your body, but they don't figure you have a job or need family time.
The study guide is just a fill in the blank of the dvd interviews, which just reiterate what the book say eat better and exercise but it gives the "experts" a chance to talk, I found it of no use. The book is written at a grade school level giving you permission to make changes as needed. There is the shopping list and a partial menu but you need to recopy everything because they don't provide anything in a tearout card format and if you want additional receipes or menus you need to go find it on the website, if you want more exercises you need to look that up too.
This plan seems very poorly done. It's more hype than what the content is. If the setting on the dvd is their church then I can understand why they think they have all the answers because the place looks like a huge church complete with sanctuary indoors and outdoors, dormitories, a mountain range of trails with a lake and a park area for all that exercising. They haven't taken into consideration that we all don't attend churches like this or live in California.
Unfortunately it was a waste of money.
