Publisher's Description

Dance me, Daddy. Dance me around.Don’t let my feet ever touch down. There’s nothing better than being your girl.If I am your princess, then you are king of the world.”This picture book by singer and songwriter Cindy Morgan sparkles with the joy of childhood and the blessings of families. Sing along with the CD performed by Point of Grace and listen to Cindy Morgan read the book version of this song that celebrates the joy in all stages of a child’s growing years, from the time his little girl dances on his feet until they dance at her wedding. A great celebration of God’s love.

If you are familiar with the Point of Grace recording of "King of the World," about the love a little girl has for her daddy, you will notice a purposeful parallel to the children's picture book Dance Me, Daddy by Cindy Morgan. In fact, a CD with the Point of Grace recording is included with the book.

The narrative is written very much like extended rhyming song lyrics, telling of a little girl having continuous fun with her daddy. She steps on his feet and lets him dance and twirl her. Together they play tea party, tag, and board games. All too soon the little girl becomes a middle schooler, and Dad has to serve the refreshments during sleepovers and pajama parties. Nevertheless, he finds time to help her with homework, and they still find time to dance, even if just in private. Ultimately, the girl grows up, falls in love, and gets married, and at the wedding, Dad gets one final time to hear his daughter say, "Dance me, Daddy."

Although this book does not quote Scripture, it underscores biblical tenets of family nurturing, parental love, and training up a child in the way she should go. It's a cute, heart-tugging story that adults will relate to even more than the 4- to 7-year-olds at which the book is targeted. The illustrations by Philomena O'Neill are not in glaring colors, but are more subdued in a way that makes one think of looking at a family album. The whole book is quite effective and enjoyable. – Dr. Dennis E. Hensley, www.ChristianBookPreviews.com
