Fitzysmom4 Stars Out Of 5Review from Rambles of a SAHMFebruary 22, 2016FitzysmomQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Girls and hair drama just seem to go together. In our home there has been plenty of wailing and gnashing of teeth over a particularly bad hair day. Best Hair Book Ever! is the perfect solution to all those hair nightmares.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It is so much more than a hairstyle book. It is a very detailed book on hair that includes care, cut, and style. I loved that it came at it from an angle of "every girl can have terrific tresses."
The beginning of the book is a tutorial on learning about what style and texture of hair you have (straight, wavy, curly, or kinky) and what looks best on your face shape. It starts with the basics like how to wash and dry your hair correctly and then moves into six different sections of different types of hairstyles.
While I would have liked more step-by-step pictures to go along with the directions I did find the directions on achieving the style to be pretty clear. The styles are designed to appeal to tween girls but I have to admit that as an adult I learned quite a bit that I plan to implement into my hair regimen.
There are even some DIY recipes for things like dry shampoo and beach or salt spray. What sets this book apart from other styling books really is all the tips and tricks it contains. Your girl is going to devour all the wonderful information.
I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5This is a fun resource for young teen girls learning to style their own hair, and trying to figure out their own unique style.December 27, 2015crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The hair styles range from simple to more complicated multiple french braids. They are all really cute and are often accompanied step by step instructions and tips.
There are hair care tips for any style and length and helpful tips (ie. Help! I butchered my bangs!), as well as DIYs for dry shampoo and barrettes. Learning to style your hair well is an easy boost to the self confidence of any girl. Even if all that's accomplished with this book is learning to take care of your hair, that's a big step in the right direction. The models aren't glitzy and glamorous, they are normal American (or Canadian) girls of all different shapes, sizes and ethnicities. I'm very impressed, it's given me some good ideas for my own hair, and my 11 year old daughter loves it.
I received this book from BookLook and Faithgirlz for the purpose of an honest review. My opinion is my own.
BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Great Hair bookNovember 20, 2015BernCaliforniaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4My sister and I like trying different styles on our hair. Books that show how to do differently styles are super fun for us. The Best Hair Book Ever has lots of great styles in it. They are not all super easy to construct, but as we practiced, they became easier.
In this book, there are not only hairstyles but suggestions for variations. Additionally, there's information on how to take care of your hair, as well as fixes for different hair problems. We enjoyed the different suggestions based on your hair types and the many different dares to try new things with their hair. In addition, we loved the tidbits of advice throughout the book.
This was a great book and we loved using it to try new styles on our hair.

Buh-Bye bad hair days! This complete hair guide boasts on its back cover. Written by the Editors of Faithgirlz and Girls Life magazine this book claims that it will make cute styles easy to have every day. So does it live up to that?
My daughter (9) was gifted (or cursed depending on the day Smile), with my naturally curly hair. She hasnt yet mastered the brushing of it on the underside so there are many brushings that end in tears. She also doesnt like her hair fussed with too much either. She is more of a braid or pony girl. When I saw this book I was so excited! Maybe seeing the fun dos in it will help her to see how much fun it can be when we do our hair and take care of it. Anyone with hair has battled the struggles of it not doing what you want. It seems that if our hair is curly at one point we want it straight, and if it is straight, we want if curly! I can truly attest to the day to day struggles of naturally curly hair and its mind of its own! I was in my 20s when I really started to appreciate my curly hair! Sadly, this is true!
This book is full of styles for any hair~up-dos, down-dos, braids, long or short hair. Having a bad hair day? No problem! There are many great tips like how to deal with frizz or how to handle those trouble tresses! A great book for any young girl!
NickiMissouri, MoAge: 18-24Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Nice Hair Care Book!November 7, 2015NickiMissouri, MoAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4The Best Hair Book Ever! is a nice hair care book for anyone wanting to understand their hair type more with tips and tricks on how to work your unruly hair according to your unique hair type. It helps answer your questions of why is my hair so flat? Is my hair wavy or curly? Then once you know what type your hair is they give you suggestions on how to bring out the best in your hair based on your personal hair type.
I love how you can write in your personal hair type info inside the book making it more like a scrapbook/information book just about your hair. It made reading about a hair care book a lot more fun and interesting to me.
There are also simple hair styles you can try and they can inspire your creativity for trying something new. They have simple recipes for a salt spray texturizer, custom dry shampoo, and DIY hair mask. I love the recipe for the custom dry shampoo. You add different ingredients according to your unique hair color. It works very well and is healthier then the dry shampoo in the store.
Although I think the hair styles in this book can get your creativity going and can help you understand how to do all the basic hair styles perfectly I just feel like they are all to simple and basic to get this book just for the hair styles. Another thing I did not really like about this book's "hair styling info" is that every single hair style is for girls that has very long hair. So don't get this book only for the hair styling info if you have a cute layered bob or even shoulder length hair.
I received a copy of Hair Care Book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are mine and were in no way influenced by outside sources.
