Students move at their own speed through the self-instructional "PACE" workbooks. Following the mastery approach, PACEs are formatted for students to complete the exercises found throughout the workbook, take a practice "self test," and conclude with a "final test" (removed from the center) to measure understanding.
This 7th grade Pace & Key Core Kit includes both the PACE workbooks as well as the accompanying PACE SCORE Key answer booklets.
The "core" kit title refers to the "core" subjects of Math, English, Social Studies, and Science that are bundled here for convenience.
This seventh Grade kit contains the following PACE sets:
- Grade 7 Math PACEs 1073-1084 (4th Edition)
- Grade 7 Math SCORE Keys 1073-1084 (4th Edition)
- Grade 7 English PACEs 1073-1084
- Grade 7 English SCORE Keys 1073-1084
- Grade 7 Social Studies PACEs 1073-1078 (4th Edition)
- Grade 7 Social Studies SCORE Keys 1073-1078
- Grade 7 Science PACEs 1073-1084
- Grade 7 Science SCORE Keys 1073-1084
Please Note: The Grade 7 Social Studies PACE set contains only 6 booklets. This enables you to complete a state history course for the second semester.

my3sonsBrown Deer, WIAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5AWESOME for independent children!May 23, 2016my3sonsBrown Deer, WIAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This entire curriculum is awesome for children who like to work at their own pace and enjoy the satisfaction of checking off and completing their goals. There are 12 books around 24-39 pages each subject. Once the student completes the twelve books each subject, the grade is complete! I have independent boys that need very little assistance. This is not for the child that cannot read and follow directions, but for children that can read and follow pretty simple instructions....it's brilliant! If you are into apologetics and getting a head start on Christian Theology and Philosophy, and love a creation world view, then this is the curriculum for you! The Science and Social Studies PACES are loaded with it! They also have a great amount of the info that the rest of the world finds important. I am so grateful that A.C.E. has been faithful in providing an awesome Christian, Creation View, program for so many years! The only slight complaint I would have is that the curriculum uses KJV for all of their Bible references. For my kids, it is a little difficult to understand. Solution!!! Keep a NIV or whatever version you prefer on hand and compare. That is a great way to keep on your toes about God's Great Word and all of the available translations.
Math: Brilliant! I have very little trouble reading the instructions if need be and explaining any questions the children might have. This is EXTREMELY self teaching. There is no teacher guide needed. A.C.E. is absolutely brilliant (to use that word again) at explaining in small sections how to work a problem. I am not a young mother so I learned this stuff a long time ago. I thoroughly enjoy relearning this material with my son. If you ever get stuck on something (which is so rare given the great explanations ) and can't find out how to do it.....search for it online. Just type in what is the square root of 7654321 and how do you figure it out in the search engine and there it is!!
Word Building (which is spelling) is packed with spelling words, meanings and dictionary searching etc. Also very simple and easy to get through on their own. Each of the 12 PACES ends with a spelling test that takes 10-40 words to complete depending on the grade level. My kids have become great spellers!
English: I really cannot say enough good things about this subject and the way A.C.E. puts it together. I have not diagramed a sentence or picked out prepositional phrases or found participles in a long time. But let me tell you, when my son has a question, I read the instructions in a few seconds and it all comes streaming back to my brain.
Literature: If you are looking for an advanced English program for any grade level above 1st or second grade, this is the one. VERY challenging. Maybe even too hard for me! My kids completed many grade levels of it and if it weren't for the increasing family size, they still would be doing it. Instead of ordering the PACES for this subject, we decided to just order the inspiring literature books that are part of the program. Classics like Charlotte's Web and D.L. Moody and Pilgrim's Progress are all a part of this wonderfully put together program. Look it up yourself, you will fall in love with these books!
If you want to see what A.C.E. is all about, I suggest going to the curriculum's website and searching for their scope and sequence section. It is all beautifully displayed for you from K4-12th grade.
Again....I would not be able to homeschool 5 boys without this curriculum and highly recommend it to any busy mom and dad trying to raise Christian Soldiers!!
St. Ambrose Academy3 Stars Out Of 5ACE Core Curriculum (4 Subjects), Single Student Complete PACE & Score Key Kit, Grade 7, 3rd Edition (with 4th Edition Math & Social Studies)August 28, 2015St. Ambrose AcademyQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 2Grade 7 Math PACEs : So far this is the second year we have used PACES for Math (5th grade was our other year). My homeschooler and I are both satisfied with the math program. This program claims to be "self-instructional, and I do not believe it is a program that you can leave your student to complete on their own. I read the directions for the math and then complete several of the problems on our dry erase board until he understands the material. Then I have him complete the rest of the problems on his own and we check them together correcting mistakes right away. He completes the Check-Up and Self test sections on his own. Then we also correct those and he takes the Test. I love that we can go faster with some math concepts and take it slower with other math concepts. I believe there are a sufficient amount of practice problems to complete for each concept and the math builds gradually with some repetition or review as you move into the next books and grade levels.
Grade 7 English PACEs : This is the first year we have used this program and I am not that thrilled with it. This program claims to be "self-instructional", but I disagree. I complete this subject about the same as Math (see above). I supplement this program heavily with a variety of literature and vocabulary appropriate for his level.
Grade 7 Social Studies PACEs: In our state (NC) students are to compete World Studies in 7th grade. The entire PACEs for this grade level talks about careers and has your homeschooler fill out a chart if they are interested in that vocation or not. I am glad he is learning about different ways to "Glorify God", as the booklets continue to push, but I would rather him be learning about World Studies. I have had him complete the vocabulary and tests only for this subject (took about two weeks to read and take tests) and we are using a completely different program for his social studies unit.
Grade 7 Science PACEs : These booklets claim to be "self-instructional", and I agree. It is a plug and chug. My homeschooler prefers to write responses in his own words so if your homeschooler is like mine, he/she will not enjoy this PACEs subject. The answers for questions are taken directly from text word for word. The experiments are easy and use materials around your home, or inexpensive equipment that you can find locally or at a friend's or neighbors home; this is nice. We are both enjoying this program, but it is not challenging and does not require my homeschooler to think or formulate his own responses. Like I said, plug and chug.
So in a nutshell, we like the math program, but that's it. My son is an average student in math, but is advanced in his other subjects. So in the future, we will most likely stick with this math program, and we will definitely be using different curriculum for his other subjects.
