Tell us a little about yourself. I'm the mother of eleven wonderful children and have been homeschooling for nineteen years. My writing career started when my husband and I were asked to write a movie screenplay for a Christian company which was just starting out. One thing led to another; soon we were deeply involved in writing for audio, and a few years later I decided to turn my pen to the thing I have always loved the most -- writing novels! Crusader King is actually my second book. My first one, A Soldier Surrenders, has been published twice and translated for the foreign market. My third novel, Saint Magnus The Last Viking, has just been released. I love writing for teens, and especially giving them Christian HEROES!
What was your motivation behind this project? I have always had a deep love of the Crusades. From the first time I ran across an account of Baldwin the Leper King, I just knew God was leading me to write a book about him.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? On the supernatural level, of course I pray that my readers will go away from my book having gained greater courage to carry their own personal crosses, of whatever nature they may be. After all, few of us have such a heavy cross to bear as that of leprosy! On a simply natural level, I wanted to write a Christian story which would be fast-paced, inspiring, and just good ol' clean fun. If I can provide teenagers out there with a couple hours of entertainment and at the same time help draw them a little closer to God and His loving Providence, then, hey, what more could an author ever want?
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I hope some of you may enjoy my newest book, Saint Magnus The Last Viking, which is hot off the press!
