Alana Fulton5 Stars Out Of 5An exciting Amish mystery seriesFebruary 19, 2021Alana FultonThis review was written for The Crow's Call #1.What begins as a joyous birthday celebration for Belinda King, surrounded by her loving family, soon turns tragic by the sudden deaths of her beloved husband, son and son-in-law. Now she must find the strength to run the family business and provide support for her widowed daughter and grandchildren, daughter and son, while also convincing her oldest son and his family to remain in their new community and build his business.
Ezekiel is torn between duty to his mother, siblings and niece and nephew and duty to God as a minister in another state and his burgeoning business. His mother insists he should follow his duty to God, but he's so unsure.
Sylvia is drowning in depression from losing her father, brother and husband all at once. She can barely function and accomplishes only what she does for the sake of her two young children.
Henry, the youngest son, barely out of the 8th grade is lost without a positive adult male influence in his life. He's angry, sneaking off and possibly experimenting with things that would disappoint his parents and bring harm to himself.
Amy, Belinda's youngest daughter must now jump in to help her mother run the family greenhouse, and chooses to sacrifice her own happily ever after in order to support her family.
In the midst of all they are wading through, someone begins targeting and vandalizing the greenhouse. But who would target this mourning Amish family and why? Only time, and subsequent books, will tell. -
