I was introduced to C.J. Mahaney and this quick read from a friend several years ago. The Cross Centered Life reminds you to get back to the starting point of life - the cross of Calvary. Christ's work on our behalf is to be the central motivation for our life and faith. Sometimes the most important truths are the easiest to forget. If you want to read this book, I suggest reading LIVING the Cross Centered Life which combines this small book with Mahaney's Christ Our Mediator and new material.

The book is rather small in size and number of pages, but big in concept and impact on life. The book starts out with the reason why the cross needs to be the center of our life. He also shows that no matter how long a person has know the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior they can not know so much that they do not revisit the actions on the cross daily. Christians face three common difficulties while trying to keep a cross centered life. Mahaney goes in to all three them in this book. The book has Scripture, understandable illustrations, and practical applications for every day life. I would caution readers to reread this book on a regular basis and not just put it away on a shelf. The cost of the book off the shelf is high, but I think ignoring a book like this could be higher. I would recommend this book for all believers.
