Tell us a little about yourself. My degree is in Early Childhood Education. I have taught Pre-K for seven years. Previously have written Bible Curriculum for a church for twelve years for ages 2yr to 5th grade. I am currently doing research on how to teach children how to read. I have traveled to Israel to study the Parables of Jesus. I have two books already published, "Joel's Chance" and Joel's Journeys Discovering God's Amazing Grace."
What was your motivation behind this project? Several years ago, I had a calling to write for children to help them learn of the importance of God's love and have a love for reading.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? My hope and prayer is that each reader has a desire to want to understand they can have a relationship with Jesus, From my years of working with young children I discovered they love animals. So this is why "Critters of Creation", will be teaching children throughout their walk with Jesus. At the end of the story, readers will find they encounter animal facts, questions, and prayers as a tool to further educate them. Each page also has memory verses for children to memorize the Word of God. The story line is one big poem. Time spent with your child is a precious commodity. Reading to and with your child helps them learn phonics. Phonological awareness is the ability to play with sounds in language. There are different levels of skills in phonological awareness. Rhyming is one. A rhyme is a recurrence of similar sounds at the end of words. The repetition of words, ideas and skills is important for early brain development.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Writing for God has helped me become closer to Him. This project taught me the importance how God loves us, not matter where we are in our walk with Him. God loves us everyone anywhere, anytime, and anyplace.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My favorite author is C. S. Lewis. I do not have a favorite book. I also love to read devotionals. I find they are very inspiring for my relationship with Jesus.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I am currently working on another "Critters of Creation" book. There are going to be many more Critters of Creation books in the future.
