Dr David Falk delivers a fantastic work highlighting things that most Christians would love to know about the biblical world but their pastors just don't do the research to know about it. The Bible wasn't created in a vacuum, and understanding the ancient near Eastern context through which God brought it to us is key. Dr Falk shows that he does the research and interacts with current scholarship and data and archeology. He's a fresh voice in a topic that usually seems more like storytelling and guesswork by pastors instead of well-researched historical data.

Would it surprise you to know that there were similar arks in Egypt long before God told Moses to make one? If true, that would add a whole lot of meaning that we just don't get from books that aren't encyclopedias or dictionaries-like the Bible.

Dr. Falk is a fine example of the Christ-sent teacher gifts to the church, both in his writings and his YouTube channel "Ancient Egypt and the Bible" and he doesn't mind pointing out where the evidence leads- and we're lazy teachers don't do their homework. He is a well-rounded and refreshing voice in the Christian scholarly community and I look forward to his next work which I believe will be on the plagues of Egypt.

This is a scholarly work, so it won't be written like the devotional on your bedside table, but the photos and the format make it easy for all to enjoy.
