Covenant House is the largest, privately funded agency in America dedicated to providing for homeless, abused, and drug-addicted youth across the country (ages 16-21). Besides providing for their basic, immediate needs, such as food, shelter, and healthcare, Covenant House also provides a comprehensive, counseling support system to transition these youth into adulthood. Rev. Bruce Ritter (1927-1999) was a Roman Catholic Priest and Franciscan Friar. After teaching theology at Manhattan College in the Bronx, he founded Covenant House in New York City, the largest, privately funded Agency in America that provides help for needy youth.
