Another amazing series by Beverly Lewis, Nellie Fisher is a fun character who kept me interested in what was going to happen next in her life and in the lives of those around her.

Drawing from a surprising diary of a younger sister who died tragically in a drowning accident, Nellie and her family are changed forever. Many families in their Amish community are faced with a decision of how Scripture will play a role in their own lives and in the lives of their families.

Nellie and her beau, Caleb, are in the middle of all the changes. Her friend Rosanna, who desperately wants a child of her own, finds her heart taken several directions in such a short time. When a donkey kicks Caleb's father in the head and leaves the man paralyzed facing his own death, one of the greatest surprises of all happens to the People.

Three books in this series, I really enjoyed the characters and wanted to find out how so many threads would be tied up. The only draw-back to this set was it took so long to get to some conclusion that the ending was disappointingly short, much described in the epilogue. Plus, I am not sure I would have ended Nellie's own story the way the author did. I really leaned toward another honorable guy named Christian Yoder.

Overall, my favorite is still the Shunning series by Lewis and then Abram's Daughters. This one was great to read, but disappointed with how the author wrapped up so much drama. Check it out at your local library and see what you think.

By the time I finished with the last page in the last book, I was crying also. I loved how David Yoder finally accepted the Lord as his Saviour. Getting kicked in the head by a mule would be painful, but if the Lord could not get your attention any other way, I guess he gets through to each of us in his own way. I greatly enjoyed this series and look forward to reading more of Beverly Lewis' books in the future. Keep up the good work, Mrs. Lewis!

When I finished reading the last page in the last book, I was crying. I was sharing the wonderful miracle experienced by David Yoder. You feel as if you personally know these characters. Beverly Lewis captivates your imagination better than any movie. You feel as if you are part of the families in the book. What a wonderful storyteller! I will continue to read all her books. Thank you
