Publisher's Description

Not everyone is an extreme couponer. Most of us just want to save some money--not let clipping coupons and scouring the internet for deals take over our lives. For all the savvy shoppers out there, Kasey Knight Trenum has written Couponing for the Rest of Us.

She knows that money is tight, food prices are going up, gas prices are closing in on unbearable, and people have better things to do than spend every spare minute (if they have any) obsessing over costs and coupons. She also knows coupons just happen to be a tool that can save a family hundreds of dollars every month and ultimately improve a family's finances and its future.

Couponing for the Rest of Us shows readers

•where to find coupons for what your family eats
•how to make the internet do the work for you
•how to find sale cycles and store match-ups (and what those terms mean!)
•how to reinvent your shopping strategy and toss your lists
•how to make grocery shopping less stressful--even fun!
•how to turn money saved into money shared
•and much more

If readers want to save money and time, this book is a gold mine.

This book is perfect for anyone wishing to start couponing. I had already begun somewhat before this book, but after reading it I finally understood all of the things that had me confused. I now get extreme sales with little effort. This book shows you how to coupon and shop properly without becoming obsessive or making it a part-time job. I love that I can now walk into CVS and get $48 worth of snacks, cereal and baby goods, but only pay $18 out of pocket (Yes that actually happened)! And I even have a small stockpile of goods (soap, cereal, shampoo, etc) started on 1 shelf in my home so that I don't have to run to the store every time I run out of these things! GREAT BOOK

Are you looking for a book to help you get started in saving money for your family? Think it will be too time consuming or complicated? If you have any interest in coupons and saving money in your monthly budget this book is a great buy. The author uses her own life examples to help explain the different ways to save. I gave this book 5/5 stars. I thought the author did a great job of simplifying the saving process. She shows that even busy people can take a few minutes and save money every week. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a simple and easy to understand help book about saving your family money.

I would like to thank the publisher for the copy of this book I enjoyed reading. I gave an honest review based on my opinion of what I read.

Kasey Trenum has some good information in her book, some of which I had not read in other places. That information includes timing of sale cycles, etc. However, couponing still comes down to requiring a great deal of time to make it actually pay. Just the time spent in gathering, looking on the Internet, and organizing them to take to the store, plus the extra time to shop with a great many coupons, makes it a non-starter for me. If you work part time or do not work outside your home, put Trenum's information to work for you and save bunches of money.

Kasey Knight Trenum runs a couponing site called Time 2 Save Time 2 Give. This book covers the ways those who don't want to fill their basements can live better through couponing. Don't confuse her methods with a ho-hum way to grab some coupons at the last minute and run to the store. It takes work and planning.

Unlike the extreme couponers who clog checkout lines with $500 of merchandise, proudly whipping out $5 at the end, Kasey advises shopping to cover three months. She says sales return about that often.

The information is excellent and Kasey's friendly personality shines through. The one problem is too much information in the first 67 pages. She used too many pages to sell couponing.

Kasey approaches couponing from a clear Christian slant. Much of her couponing goes to giving.

Worth the price. Those pinched by the economy will find it a useful handbook.

***I received this book through NetGalley. I do not receive pay for any book I review and I do not know the author. This review is my honest opinion.

I have tried to do the whole couponing thing before and quickly gotten frustrated & lost interest. This book was really good because it explained the couponing terms, process & examples of using multiple coupons. This author is very knowledgeable. She started couponing when her family started having financial problems due to job loss. You can see her blog at

If you have always been curious about couponing this book is a great resource. I admire that the author not only encourages moderation but also encourages couponing to give it to charity.

I was given this book by the publisher in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
