One of the universal things that we all do with our little ones is teach them to count. Whether we are buttoning up jammies or climbing stairs it just seems instinctual to begin to count. Before you know it your child will be chiming in as well.

In Counting Blessings Eileen Spinelli has taken that everyday habit and included a twist. Instead of counting buttons or stairs she is counting blessings! The story centers around a sweet little bunny and follows him through his day counting up all the things that are blessings for him and his friends. In the end he comes to the conclusion that they have so many blessings that it would be impossible to count them all.

The concept is a wonderful one but the pictures put it over the top. I just adore the beautiful illustrations by Lee Holland. His use of vibrant colors and sweet little animal creatures make the book a true delight for the eyes. This is a book that I am sure you won't mind reading again and again to your little one.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

Counting Blessings is a very simple counting board book.

"One family - loves you sweet.

    Two hands. Two Feet.

    Three sweaters when it's cold..."

The illustrations are very sweet. This will be a quick bedtime book to encourage little ones to think about what they are thankful for. I would recommend this book for infants to preschoolers.

This one is a hard one about which to write a lengthy review, so I will quickly sum up my thoughts. The book is a simple board book designed to not only teach little ones to count, but also to be thankful. The beautifully illustrated pages give a number and item (s) for which to be thankful. Numbering about 20 pages, with padded covers, this book is sure to be a hit with young children. Blessings are numbered 1 to 10, and rabbits are the predominate theme. A nice early reader/toddler addition to any persons library.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers for review purposes in exchange for a fair and honest review of the material contained. A positive review was not required and all thoughts on the book are my own.

I can count on Eileen Spinelli to deliver an enjoyable rhyming text that's fun to read to my grandchildren. In Counting Blessings, which is more than a counting book, she leads the child through numbers 1 to10 then goes on to name many blessings like, "snow to dance in and songs to sing." My favorite blessing in the story is, "Six books beside your chair." What reviewer wouldn't love that. The bunny in the story is adorable thanks to Lee Holland's delightful illustrations. They're the kind of drawings that make me go ahhh charming and colorful. The sturdy board book pages, simple text, and bright illustrations make this a perfect book for little ones. I received this book in exchange fora fair review.
