Jimmy, a vibrant ten-year-old boy, lives in the tranquil town of Eagle Rock, Louisiana, with his father, stepmother and, most importantly, his best friend a German shepherd named Rainy. When Jimmy s father gets a promotion, the family must relocate to an apartment in New York City that has a strict no pet policy. Unwilling to let his master go without a fight, Rainy embarks on a cross-country journey to New York—but navigating the Big Apple is just the beginning of his challenging adventure. Join Rainy and Jimmy in this family-friendly tale about devotion, true friendship and love. Rated PG. English and Spanish subtitles. Approx. 88 minutes.

although the film had some good aspects (rainy, the main 'cool dog' character helps several people in distress and displays a deep love and devotion to his best friend, jimmy and there is some reasonable dog slapstick humor), he also steals a car (and drives it). he and jimmy break and enter a warehouse ( which leads to another part of the plot-illegal dealings by their mean landlords). but the boy also is breaking the law and entering a dangerous warehouse. rude humor (animal flatulence/gas jokes and up close shot of a bulls male parts. the producers use some conservative rap music to connect with the rap generation. jimmy has long hair that makes him look a bit feminine. the little girl heroine kicks a bully boy below the belt. the dog helps a homeless man beg and take in a lot of cash (rather than teach personal responsibility). a lot of unnecessary rude humor. the same film could be made with out those aspects, but was not. all in all, it panders to the world system culture and does not point kids to their Creator and His ways, and what He considers humorous (the Bible, the Word of God shows us that He clearly takes joy in certain things and enjoys when His followers do also). can't recommend the film, even at a low price.

Cool dog is a hero in so many ways. He gets help in so many way to help people, when they are in trouble. Goes and get help when needed. Wears sunglasses. Plays checkers @ the end of the game. Very funny in so many parts of the movie.
