As a fan of cooking, and Amish food, I was delighted to review The Amish Cooking Class Cookbook. There are lots of basic recipes and "how-tos" for beginners as well. The natural remedies for other areas are also fun to try! This cookbook isn't only for food, but domestic and beauty products. Personally, I love the tips area on some recipes, like using muffin tray for baking meatloaf for a more control on portion size! In all, The Amish Cooking Class Cookbook is fun to peruse and a great way to try some of your Amish favorites.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the author/publisher. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. This is my honest opinion.

This is a cookbook that will hit the comfort food spot in your soul! It is homey, practical and very family friendly. It is loaded with everything from desserts, beverages, canning, mains and sides, cooking with children, treats for your pet, home care recipes and more. This a beautifully photographed book with a variety of vignette pages about life in the Amish community. This book is intended to go with the Amish Cooking Class series by the same name... The Amish Cooking Class Series (trilogy).

I decided to test run some recipes from the book before sharing with you. I tried four recipes on my family this past week and they loved every single one of them. I made Heidis Sweet and Sour Meat Loaf (pg. 120) It is super easy to make and has amazing flavor. My meat eating bunch ate it right up. I also tried Baked Stuffed Tomatoes (pg. 113), Squash Croquettes (pg. 173), and two loaves of Banana Bread (pg 39). I am telling you, this book is beautiful! I also love that it lays flat with the spiral binding.

This is such a great cookbook for the homesteader in you! I give it a 5 out of 5 stars and will continue to try new recipes from this book for a long time to come.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

Wanda Brunstetter's Amish Cooking Class Cookbook is inspired by her Amish Cooking Class three book series. Let me just say it is.....amazing! This is a cookbook to be read and used. Recipes compiled are from the three novels and various Amish women. Readers will find a section on advice or tips from Amish cooks. The many recipes are divided and subdivided into normal cookbook categories. Look for the Recipes for Kids section. It is a nice one the kiddos will enjoy.

Descriptions of the cast of characters from the cooking classes and pictures of the book covers are featured in the book. Scripture is sprinkled throughout which is a treasure. The pictures are vivid and beautiful. It is spiral bound so it will open up flat on your counter making it much easier to read when mixing and stirring. This is a cookbook for cooks, those just learning to cook, and those that like to read cookbooks. It will make a delightful gift for so many people. Don't forget to get one for yourself. Another 5 star book that I highly recommend to you

I am a huge fan of Amish stories. They always seem to have scenes centered around food and cooking, especially Brunstetter's Amish Cooking Class series. To finally have the cookbook in hand is a treat! It is chock full of good old down home Amish cooking. I love how this cookbook not only has great recipes (definitely recommend the classic Baked Oatmeal!) but also some hacks that I never knew about. How many times have I needed powdered sugar but didn't have any? Well, now I do not need to worry. And neither do you if it has happened in your kitchen. Just pulverize white sugar in a food processor or spice grinder and you will have powdered sugar that is delectably white and fluffy in no time. This and many more hacks are part of the treasure trove in the Amish Cooking Class Cookbook.

Not only are we introduced to the cast of characters from the novels but each section begins with a lovely Scripture, followed by enticing recipes and images of appetizing dishes that are drool worthy. These women enjoy a slower paced lifestyle but they do actually use canned and over-the-counter ingredients for their dishes. Not everything is all from scratch, which makes this a cookbook anyone can benefit from! Included is information about Amish culture which makes for more fascinating reading. There is even a section for children with many easy-to-prepare favorites from childhood.

I plan on using this cookbook for many meals but I was delighted to find a Miscellaneous section containing recipes for Health, Household, and Canine Treats. There are a lot of dogs in my adult children's homes and I have long wanted to make them tasty homemade doggie biscuits.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

There are many great recipes within this book. I love all the extra little tips. This tells a bit about Wanda E. Brunstetter cooking class series that are wonderful also. I look forward to making many of these recipes. I received this from Barbour Publishing for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
