CaroljoFarmington, MOAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Marriage of ConvenienceAugust 14, 2023CaroljoFarmington, MOAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I greatly enjoyed this historical story of two sisters, a wealthy widower rancher and a precocious little girl! Patience Courtney was told that she would never find a husband and accepted that as the truth until she believes she is penniless and homeless and a little girl needs her. Convincing the Cowgirl is a sweet historical romance that begins with a marriage of convenience. I recommend this book to others. I received a complimentary e-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.

Katieann8270Panama City, FLAge: 45-54Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Book 3 in Colorado Cowgirls!September 8, 2023Katieann8270Panama City, FLAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Convincing the Cowgirl is book 3 of the Colorado Cowgirls series and it's just as fun as the previous two books!
Spencer needs a wife to be a mama to his daughter Evangeline and Patience needs a place to go to when their cousin shows up and claims to be their uncle's heir. After Spencer finds out about the predicament that the Courtney girls are in, he goes to ask Felicity to marry him. He ends up getting Patience though, who is the artist of their family and a bit scattered. She immediately falls in love with Spencer's daughter Evangeline and is such a good mama to her. It takes a while for them to figure things out but it's such a sweet story of how they come to love one another. I love how there's always a little mystery and adventure in Jody's books too!
I really can't get enough of Jody Hedlund's books. They are always so engaging and I can't stop reading until the end. Also, I must comment on the covers of Jody's books...Roseanna White does them and they're are just so beautiful! If you're going to judge a book by it's cover, then these books by Jody are absolutely wonderful!

PollymissouriAge: Over 65Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Fun and Romance in the Old WestSeptember 7, 2023PollymissouriAge: Over 65Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Fun and romance in the old West.
One of my favorite tropes is a marriage of convenience but this one has a little twist of a mistaken bride. Also, Evangeline, the 4 year old daughter of the hero is a ray of sunshine who gets into lots of mischief. I love that Patience is a creative soul who crafts and paints to bring joy into an otherwise desolate western ranch. Patience is trying to shed her rigid Quaker upbringing while still wanting to please God. The hero, Spencer, needs to convince Patience that he really wants her to be his wife and he may need a little convincing himself. Spencer is a worthy man who is hardworking and loves his daughter but sometimes cannot control her. There is an added element of intrigue when a long lost cousin arrives. Miss Hedlund spices up the romance of these two married people with just the right touch.
This may be my favorite the Colorado Cowgirls. We will see after the next book!

Gnomie5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful RomanceSeptember 6, 2023GnomieI absolutely loved this story there is so much in it. It's full of wonderful characters, Patience, Spencer, Tex, Evangeline, and Felicity. There is a lot of misunderstanding and miscommunication that leads to some hilarious results and surprising outcomes. Spencer Wolcott needs a mother for his 4 year old daughter, Evangeline and Patience and Felicity need somewhere to go when their cousin shows up to take over their home. Spencer marries Patience and finds his orderly life is now full of surprises. Patience has ADHD and I love the way the author handles it (my daughter has it too and I saw so much of her in this story). Felicity takes a job in town as a companion to Mrs. Bancroft (her story is in the next book). Tex is like a father to Spencer and is always willing to dispense advice and help with Evangeline. And the best part, it's a western! Such a great story with loads of surprises, plenty of action, a bunch of swoon worthy romance and a couple of villains that will hold your attention to the very end and wanting for more.

I loved every chapter and of course, I loved Patience. The story takes you to Colorado many years ago, it immerses you in that time period and that society. Great book, an awesome writer.
