Conversations with Scripture: Daniel

The Conversations with Scripture series is the only Bible commentary written froma uniquely Anglican perspective. More than a source of children's stories or apocalyptic visions, the book of Daniel has much to offer, speaking an important word about faithful living to those struggling with political and cultural forces of domination and oppression. While written more than two-thousand years ago, Daniel still asks: Who controls our lives? To what or whom do we owe ultimate allegiance? To whom do the kingdom, the power, and the glory truly belong.

Conversation with Scripture: Daniel introduces a fresh way of reading Daniel. It teases out the Scripture's message-which is often hidden in dream symbols and rich visions intended for its original audience-while encouraging contemporary readers to listen for the voice of God speaking through Daniel in our own time and place. A chapter-by-chapter study guide with reflection questions is included. Like all volumes in the series, it is flexibly designed and appropriate for college and seminary classes, adult formation programs in parish group settings, and/or individual study and enrichment.
