I have been challenged, yet encouraged by this book. I love the references to digging for gold in our children. As she states, what we look for is what we find. We need to look for opportunities to grown character in our kids. I was very encouraged that just because I have bad days does not make me a bad mom. We are not perfect, we need God's grace. However, we get caught up in a vicious cycle of performance based living, expectations, and comparisons. That goes for our children as well. Renee suggests to open our hands and let go of what we want so we can get to know and enjoy the child God gave us. Thank you, Renee, for this book.
