Purchased ACE curriculum after purchasing another curriculum & finding out that the state required Social Studies & not history. Purchased Social Studies curriculum 1st & after my student saw the curriculum & working in it, decided they wanted to change ALL of the curriculum to ACE. LOVE this curriculum as the teacher & my student loves it, as well. Have found areas that needed extra work & have bought PACES to help fix areas that were overlooked by Public School. Cannot recommend this highly enough! Getting ready to purchase next year's curriculum & as the student has requested, we will be sticking with ACE. Must also say that the books that must be purchased for the Literature & Creative Writing PACES are fantastic & our student LOVES them too!

We have used PACEs more than any other curriculum in our homeschooling years. My oldest (9) enjoys the PACEs. He is able to do more of a subject if he wants, or just stick to what is needed. I have toddler twins so his independent study is a blessing. There are moments when I will expand upon something, but for the most part these are made to where a student works on their own (and the parent just answers questions and grades daily work).

I will say that math can be a bit repetitive to him (with lots of practice problems, just like public schools do) and he finds word building to be too easy some times (but I think it is good that he isn't overwhelmed with challenges on all fronts - plus he read well above his age level). One perk of the PACEs is that they are 3-week workbooks and you do not have to use the same 12 workbooks for 'fifth grade' that are actually part of fifth grade - you can move ahead or behind as needed for your student.

We like the characters in the books as well - over time your student gets to know the characters in the comics (Ace and friends) and they often provide a character building story.

I do plan to mix in one or more other curriculums next year, just because having all seven subjects (Bible is #7) as PACEs is a bit one-night, we will continue to use PACEs in our homeschool for my oldest as well as my twins (who will start next year).
