BetsyR4 Stars Out Of 5good product, wasteful packagingNovember 14, 2016BetsyRQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 3I already knew I wanted this bible for my 3rd grade class. It was nice to have all the options Christian books has to offer and of course I checked prices from other sellers. I didn't see anywhere in the description that each bible comes packaged in a hard, decorative cardboard box. I ordered a dozen of these and it is so wasteful to throw all this excessive packaging away. I know a thing or two about packaging and I would have preferred a lower price, or the option to purchase something else if I had known. We are a totally green church.

blessedwith3Age: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Absolutley Love this!April 15, 2013blessedwith3Age: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Our oldest son is 5, he will be 6 this summer. He has had 2 different kids' bibles with colorful pictures and short stories. Our son reads on a exceptionally high level for his age. He started off kindergarten reading on the early first grade level. As we are finishing up the school year he has been reading on early second grade level. He likes to challenge himself as he reads and when he picked up our NASB bible and started to read it we realized that it was time to buy him his own. We wanted to get this for him for his birthday, however sometimes these things just can't wait! Especially when your child shows true love for God's word, and desire to learn more.
He does have our old NLT bible to compare the passages. He understands most of the words, but we sometimes have to talk about what different words mean. I did come across a few words that I wish were different; example being Psalms 1: "The truly happy person doesn't fallow wicked advice," In this case we had to spend a good bit of time trying to figure out the word wicked. To make sure that he understood what wicked really meant. It isn't a common word for a 5 year, unlike "Evil, Bad, unkind etc."
However right below it there is a "my thoughts" section that explains Psalm 1, in words he can easily understand, with a story he can relate to. Over all I'm extremely happy with this bible for my son, and will buy it again for my other two children when they are old enough.
Pastor JAmericaAge: 25-34Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Great For My BoysApril 11, 2013Pastor JAmericaAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 4As my wife and I begin our homeschool career I was looking for a good Bible for my boys that is easy to understand but still gives a good weightiness to the original language. The CEB is a great translation for this. I preach and teach from the ESV but I know it is to high of a reading level for my boys so I purchased a CEB a few months ago, and enjoyed it's translation.
The Bible is a great quality and the personalization looks great on it. This is a Bible my boys will have for many years until I purchase them their own ESV.
