Author/Artist Review

Author: Joyce Day Guy
Located in: Ardmore, Oklahoma

Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a Christian Writer in Ardmore, Oklahoma. I have a desire to bring people joy, happiness, and meaning through Poetry. I have been writing since childhood in ledgers & school papers. I finally was encouraged to put my poems in a book. I had a country farm life & heritage. My Aunt Eula Camp was an English Teacher in Drumwright, Oklahoma who encouraged me to begin sharing my poetry by writing them for family members and friends. In the last 15 years I have written many as gifts. They're included in my book. I pray they will bless all who read them. Thank you. Joyce Day Guy

What was your motivation behind this project?  It's wonderful to see my book, "Come Share A Cup of Coffee, It's All About Friends" online today. I have been writing Poetry since childhood. I made cards for my Mother in First Grade. I'd always loved the Card Shoppe in the small town of Noble, Oklahoma, & as a child, wanted so to write. It is a beautiful experience at age 76, to see my heart's emotions having been put into prose and finally out where others can enjoy them as well. I have written it for you. Please let it touch your heart as it has flowed straight from mine. Kind Regards, Joyce Day Guy

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I personally would love to hear how people have taken a trip in their hearts and minds reliving joyful times, as they read my book of Poetry. I believe there is a poem included for everyone's heart strings. I pray hearts will sing & dance and get lost in the words God gave me to write. Words are like Music, they can make our feet dance while we are sitting still while putting joyful smiles on our faces as we read. I pray you can get lost in the meaningful times mentioned herein. Enjoy! Joyce Day Guy

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I have been mostly Impacted by and through WORDS all my life. Words can make us sing out with laughter, cry in remorse or help us to recall those meaningful times of past joys while being comforted in many ways. Words help us to remember those whose lives have touched our hearts and helped us along life's way. My prayer is that my WORDS do just that! Thank you for asking. Be blessed, Joyce Day Guy

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My Inspirations have been solely the people who surrounded me throughout my life. Family, Friends, Teachers, and The Holy Bible for truths which inspire the soul. I have been inspired when I heard a child cry or laugh and also, when a Robin sings. There are such beautiful WORDS that only a heart can know. May I extend my JOY to all who read my WORDS! Joyce Day Guy

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I would love to know my writings have inspired and BLESSED at least one person to reach down inside their souls & find they have many Words to write also. I pray I have done that with this book, "Come Share A Cup of Coffee, It's All About Friends." I would also like to share that a friend, Lisa La Rae Burt Newby, gave me the Title for this book. Her family had touched my life through pain & hopeful Words as well. Her mother Sandy Burt & I always enjoyed coffee during Bible studies or visiting. It was simply the PERFECT TITLE to fit the occasion. Blessings to the Burt Family. Joyce Day Guy
