Oh My gosh what can I say about this book, from the first page it had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed this book just when you think you have the story figured out the author throws in a twist to the story. The author does an amazing job at keeping you hooked on the story till the very end. I can't wait to read more from these friends. The twist and turns in the story truly will keep wanting more and keeps you guessing till the very end. This book is listed as a romance suspense, while there is a ton of suspense in the book there is not a whole lot of romance but the way its played out is very natural and doesn't seemed forced at all, and its the perfect amount. You really can not go wrong with this book its a good clean read with a suspense add to the mix.
Inkwell Reviews5 Stars Out Of 5Review From inkwellreviews.comJanuary 1, 2017Inkwell ReviewsQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As you have already guessed from the 5-star rating, this book is PHENOMENAL! This is one of my favorite suspense novels of all time. To start of listing all the good thing about this book, the first is character development. I think the best thing Dani Pettrey did was convey the characters emotions. It was almost like I could feel what they were feeling. Second, is that Griffin McGray has three best friends. So the story isnt always about him. You never get bored with it. It was so refreshing to read a story like that. Third, is that Finley Scott is a Forensic Anthropologist. The work she did was so interesting (in a non-gruesome way). So I did learn a little bit from reading this book, which is pretty rare. The humor in it is icing on the cake. On top of that, it was so good that I almost read it all in one day! Should I go on?

Rosa5 Stars Out Of 5Dani Pettrey did it again, another great suspense!August 27, 2016RosaQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love Dani Pettrey's books! Each one I read is better than the last.
This book is action packed from the first chapter.
A body is discovered, an investigation is begun, and then you're right in the middle of a fast-paced adventure.
Finley and Griffin, the two main characters, are determined at the beginning that they don't want to be in a relationship, and yet, they cannot deny their immediate attraction. The romance happens quickly in this book!
The conclusion was a surprise, it kept me guessing until the very end.
I found this book very intriguing, and can't wait to read the next in the series!

Well, even though Baltimore and the Cheaspeake are about as far as you can get from Alaska, except for maybe Florida or Hawaii, Cold Shot is now one of my favorite suspense novels of the year. It was great! I could hardly put it down and if I hadn't finally been forced to get some sleep I would probably have finished it in one sitting. I immersed myself in the world of danger and suspense, happily engrossed in trying to figure out the killer or killers before time ran out.
Cold Shot is a great start to what I know will prove to be another wonderfully thrilling series from one of the best authors in Christian suspense. Dani Pettrey's talent for writing engaging characters, dramatic settings, and of course chilling mysteries, is unmistakable. I quickly devoured Cold Shot but I'm not sure just how patiently I can wait for book 2 in the Chesapeake Valor series. Oh, the sweet agony of being a bookworm...
