Ah, how I needed this book. I LOVE to be organized. Visual clutter within my home is stressful to me, and makes it harder to relax in what should me an "oasis". Ever since I married and downsized from a house to an apartment nearly three years ago, I've struggled with being organized in a smaller space (not to mention, having to do it with the added stuff that my husband has!). Shannon's book provides some excellent tools and suggestions on how to organize room by room in a way that maximizes its intended use and purpose. I'm also one of those individuals who will hold on to items that I'm not using simply because they were gifts, so I found it helpful to read Shannon's advice regarding that.

I believe I'll be referencing her book again and again throughout my organizing adventure as I make our cozy apartment a true home with a "place for everything and everything in its place".

The Clutter Fix is not for those looking for a quick fix. It is not for those who want to be minimalists. This book is for the rest of us. It is for those of us that want a home that is organized and free of clutter. Not sure where to begin? Shannon begins with a 10-Day Decluttering Shortcut and a list of 120 Things to Throw Away (or donate or sell). Shannon explains each step in getting rid clutter in the home in detail but understands this is not a one size fits all program. The Clutter Fix is a fast read packed with so much useful information! I highly recommend it!

I thoroughly loved The Clutter Fix by Shannon Acheson. I have read many books on decluttering. This was a very unique book as it talks about practical ways to not just declutter, but also how to organize your home. Many books will just tell you how to de-clutter and offer little hope for organizing. This book offers practical resources for you to figure out your organizing style. Shannon keeps it real in the book, by sharing her own stories, and understands the various struggles people have with clutter and organization. I found this book to be one of the most useful clutter and organizing books I have read. There are many practical resources in the book for you to work thorough your clutter or organizational styles. I was given a free copy from the publisher for my honest review. I am so glad I read this book. And happy to recommend it!

This book has come at a very oppotune time for me. Now that summer is over, I had already set decluttering on my Fall ToDo list. Having never read any previous books on organizing or decluttering, I have enjoyed and appreciated the small wins section early in the book. Breaking them down into bite sized tasks made tackling the whole house approachable and not overwhelming. This book has helped maintain the motivation to get these tasks done. There are plenty of used and over loved areas in our homes and this book has me tucking into these negleted spaces to build some sustainable systems for our whole family. The contents of this book can be easily adapted to each individual's home.

I think housekeeping and cleaning/ decluttering books are one of those subjects that probably just don't interest a huge group of people (although so many of these books being published does imply that that is an inaccurate assumption) but I happen to enjoy books like this. Or my Enneagram one-wing does anyway! This book in particular is extra fun because she dives into more than just the obvious steps you could quickly find in a short blog post, such as with a fun decluttering style personality framework ! I really like Shannon Acheson's writing and look forward to more books from her in the future.
