Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Starts in Hebrews yet makes the journey backMay 31, 2022Kris BushOrlando, FLAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4Here's a new Bible Study from Trillia Newbell that focuses on Hebrews 11.
She focuses on the Hall of Faith. Where we learn how the faithful of the Old Testament has provided the blueprint of how we can be faithful now.
This is one of the shorter bible studies that Moody Women offers at only 6 weeks. It does not stay in the Hall of Faith but journies back into each of the members' narratives (she uses the word stories, I prefer the term narrative because these are real people and we are reading about their real lives) in the Old Testament.
This particular study is formatted to include 5 daily devotions for each week of the study as well as deeper study questions under Reflect. The goal is to immerse yourself in the word of God during this study so as to soak up as much as you can about each narrative.
She even includes an alternate option to extend the study out to 8 weeks, if smaller chunks are better.
One of the best parts of this bible study is Appendix B, with the guide to reading through Old Testament narratives.
Definitely recommend it for those who want a good but short bible study.
As always I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest opinion.

JournalOfABibliophileAge: 25-34Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5More of a devotional than a study.May 3, 2021JournalOfABibliophileAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2A Great Cloud of Witnesses: A Study of Those Who Lived by Faith is Trillia Newbell's second bible study published through Moody Publishers. This is a six week study, the first week opens with Hebrews 10, while the rest of the study focuses on Hebrews 11. Like every Moody study, this has five days each week. There is an option for eight weeks, however I personally find six days a week instead of five make more sense with the layout.
Each week opens up with a little commentary, a section to read, and some questions. The week intros are pages long, while each day is a couple pages. It takes more time for each intro than it does for each day. Each day is more of a devotional, which is great for busy women, but if you're looking to sit down and dig then it's best to do an entire week in one sitting.
I was expecting a bit more with this study, but I still enjoyed it and recommend it because it reminds you of God's faithfulness and the people he saved in history.

thechristianscribeArizonaAge: 25-34Gender: Female4 Stars Out Of 5Great Bible StudyJanuary 31, 2021thechristianscribeArizonaAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I'm not big on studies like these, they don't do much for me but I wanted to give this one a try because Hebrews 11 is one of my favorite chapters in the NT. I haven't done the study yet but flipping through and reading sections has motivated me to try it. This is a 6-week Bible study focusing on God's faithfulness toward the Hebrews and distinct men and women mentioned in Hebrews 11 who remained faithful to God through thick and thin.
Each week is made up of 5 days and centers on a specific topic from the chapter then it's broken down into 5 subtopics. There are 2-4 daily verses to read and a short 1-page devotional and a few questions at the end for meditation. The introduction for each week can be used for a 2-day study as it contains a longer section to read and more questions to answer, thus, you can easily turn the weeks into a 7-day weekly study.
I'm actually excited to start this study, Trillia, seems to know her Bible- the little I have perused sounds thoroughly Biblical and spiritually filling. I can tell that much will be gathered from this in-depth study on Hebrews 11.
I received a copy of this book from Moody in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Nay DeniseNJAge: 25-34Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Great studyJanuary 26, 2021Nay DeniseNJAge: 25-34Gender: FemaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Here with my first Bible study workbook review for the year. As much as I love studying the Bible, I enjoy a great Bible study workbook or guided-study. I was excited for this release because I was able to go through this author's first study as well. I had high hopes going into this study.

Trillia Newbell is a brilliant author in regards to craft such relatable and biblically sound studies. I love that she finds a chapter to focus on and help the reader get a deeper, more connected understanding of it. She dives deep into Hebrews 11 while having us read through Hebrews 10, 12 and some other Old Testament books (such as Joshua and Judges).
Even though this is a six-week study, there is an option to turn it into an eight-week study which is excellent for those who are new to this kind of devotional study or for those who want to go deeper. The introductory portion of this study is extremely useful for both seasoned and new believers.
Being that this is a devotional style Bible study its broken into five days for each week. Each week consists of the following:
- Introduction to the week with a specific reading and questions to help you dig for a better understanding.
- Five days with an explore section which consists of the scripture readings and devotional to support thinking. Also a reflect section with questions to get your mind diving deep into the study.
This an excellent, eye-opening study for both personal and group use. I think this is great for personal reference and for churches looking to expand their Bible study.
I can see me hosting a women's study with this workbook. Would definitely recommend!
