Clothesline Chats

Studying the Bible, attending a conference or seminar, supporting a common interest - Christian women form groups for many reasons. A group's effectiveness is influenced by its appreciation of the unique life experiences God has given to each of its members. However, many groups focus on achieving goals without providing adequate forums for their members to truly learn about each other.

Clothesline Chats presents an approach to getting to know fellow group members through a telephone chain. A Chat group of up to fifteen women follows a schedule to telephone one another. Each woman receives a Chat name, and the group selects fourteen Chat days. On each Chat day, each woman considers a suggested conversation topic and initiates a Chat with one group member. Through these chats, the women gain a familiarity with each other that rarely occurs in a group setting.
