This Bible is great for beginning the study of a passage, enabling one to read these four translations before needing to pick up another book or Bible. But I find it most useful when I am simply going to read rather than study. My favorite translation for reading is the KJV, but it's nice to be able to glance over to another translation quickly for comparison or possible clarification.
To retain the side-by-side format, page breaks are determined by the lengthiest translation on the page, which is usually the Amplified. So there is sometimes considerable blank space below one or more of the other translations. I consider this "bonus space" in case I ever want to jot down a few notes. However, not every page has this extra space.
The spine was advertised as sewn, but in the hardcover edition which I have it appears to be glued. The paper seems to be of high quality, and has a nice, smooth feel to it. Although the pages are thin, there is very little show-through from the other side - certainly not enough to be a distraction when reading.
This Bible is thick and heavy. I find it easiest to rest it on a desk or table when reading. As others have mentioned, the print seems rather small, so I usually wear reading glasses or use a magnifier.
On my copy, the text is misaligned toward the top from Exodus 38:9 (page 241) through Leviticus 20:20 (page 304) - a total of 64 pages - and these pages were not separated at the bottom. I had to cut through the bottom of these pages with a knife to separate them. So those pages look a little tattered along the bottom edge, but I didn't consider it enough of an issue to bother returning it (although I know CBD would have been happy to replace it).
I carry mine in an Extra Large Wordkeeper Canvas cover (Item WW13638). However, I don't carry it by the handle. This is a HEAVY Bible.
