Daph5 Stars Out Of 5Amazing BookJuly 9, 2018DaphQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book makes you evaluate yourself as a church member.
That subject I've been wanting to read about it because it's close to home. I shared a word based on this book, but unfortunately those who really needed to hear it were not even at the Prayer service. well they never are. man, the way my Pastor was touched that night. So many people take church membership for granted and it bothers me so much. Rainer said the more you get involve in ministry the more you will see the church imperfection. He couldn't be more right.
Aurora4 Stars Out Of 5Great introduction to a serious issue.June 26, 2018AuroraQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 3I am a Master's candidate in Theology and have been noticing a hypocritical attitude within the Church. Rainer essentially writes to convey to the Church that mass consumerism has infested its membership. The solution, he thinks, is too reform our attitudes towards service of selflessness and sacrifice. Most of all, he writes that we should be the bellhops of other consumer Christians showing them the attitude of Christ. To serve the Church and the community, we must be in love not only with Christ but the Church. Rainer's ultimate conclusion is that Church shopping is not a solution to your Church problems, nor is schism making. Instead, we are to deal with the imperfectness of the Church and it's members through the love of the Holy Spirit and Christ. However, while finding it a satisfying evening read, I felt as if he could have said more on Christian consumerism, and offered more solutions for our consumer environment. I bought it on sale and would recommend it to any other lay person in the congregation.

TamHam5 Stars Out Of 5I Am A Church Member: Discovering the Attitude that Makes the DifferenceApril 23, 2018TamHamQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This small (quick read in one day), straightforward, biblically supported and practical book was very helpful to me. Really appreciated the personal pledges and questions for biblical reflection and application at the end of each very short chapter. I plan to purchase multiple copies to give to friends, pastor and lay leadership at our church hoping that our members can all be "on the same page" when it comes to how we view membership and operate as the body of Christ. Excellent!
