Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  My passions are the Bible, and health and wellness. I believe the entire Bible is inspired truth preserved for us, giving us God's most important word for life. I graduated from John Brown University and was an educator and educational therapist mainly in Christian schools. Now retired, I live with my disabled husband in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. We have three married sons and six young grandchildren. More information is available at ChronoBibleGuide.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Fifteen years ago I used a commercial chronological Bible reading plan that was book by book with three chapters a day, and reading time varied significantly. It was easy to see reading by book is not chronological, and some books like Jeremiah and Daniel are not in order of events. Many other plans I viewed had similar problems. I decided to make my own arrangement by chapter, and evened the reading times.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  My desire is to encourage people to read God's word. I have found this method helps me to better understand the content and context of a lot of portions of scripture. We get to know God by reading His word, and our feelings for God deepen the more that we get to know Him.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  Reading the Bible over and over in order of events has helped me to better remember many portions of scripture. I see God's holiness, justice, and sovereignty especially in the Old Testament. God's love and care is so clear, and that gives a sense of peace regardless of personal circumstances.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I have followed Dr. J. Vernon McGee's Thru the Bible plan, and checked other sources including Bible encyclopedias, and commentaries.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Invest 10 to 15 minutes a day to read through the scriptures in a year's time, or read at your own rate. This is spiritual nutrition, more essential than physical nutrition! God's word is powerful. It gives strength and comfort, and is the way to know and trust the God who loves you.
