C.S. Lewis is certainly a "gift" in our time. Excellent and wonderful, entertaining stories. Uplifting and adventurous.

I would also like to say that in response to a review claiming C.S. Lewis is teaching against scripture. I believe this is an incorrect point of view, C.S, Lewis is not twisting scripture at all.

Reference- Colossians 3:23-24- When you are working, one is to work as if "for the Lord". C.S. Lewis is not against scripture-

Reference-Ephesians 6:7 Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. ... rendering service with good will as to the Lord and not to men.

Once, when I had read the chronicle almost to the end, I was thrilled. The stories in the chronicles were surprising and imaginative.

HOWEVER, now I know that in the ending book of the Chronicle, author C. S. Lewis gives dubious teachings that totally contradict with the whole teaching of the Bible.

The chronicle, written by the well-know Christian figure, very explicitly claims in the last book ('The final battle of Narnia') that Aslan (as you may have heard, there are obviously clear references to Jesus throughout the Chronicles) and "Tars" (some other "god") are the same.

Sounds tough, right? Hard to believe it, since so many believers have shared it with their children? Here's the translation of that claim found in chapter 15, with my translation from the Finnish version: "[Aslan says:] My child, all that you've made to serve Tars, I take it as your service to me". That's some bizarre teaching! So, it clearly states that believing in any other god is the same as believing in Jesus Christ and His Father. (If you dont believe me on this, you might have the book in your kids book shelf, so that you can take a look at it yourself). So Lewis totally opposes the message of the Bible and the Gospels.

What's more, this claim is intentionally in the book. A friend of mine has told me about having read an article written by Lewis, the teaching of which was perfectly in line with this incomprehensible distortion of the Word (as you may have noticed, its a seriously twisted form of Matthew 25:40).

    Definition of a great author:

    1) Every line packed with entertainment value

    2) The ability to create a world in which we can live (Narnia)

    3) The creation of a character who takes on a life of his/her own, captures the public imagination,

    becomes a household word (Aslan).

Lewis is among the elite, the top ten best authors in English literature.

I haven't read all the volumes yet so I'm not commenting on the books - they're well known anyway. However, I can say that this collector's edition is very nice. The volumes are paperback but bound very well. The covers and the illustrations are wonderful in color. They are by Pauline Baynes, a very well known illustrator who did the illustrations for the original volumes. She also did some illustrations for the Lord of the Rings literature. If you enjoy reading from an illustrated text, you'll definitely like this edition.

It is unfortunate that someone erroneously decided that the Chronicles should be published in chronological order instead of the original order. When read out of order they lose continuity. Please return to the original order as Mr. Lewis wrote them.
