This is one book that will keep you guessing and on the edge-of-your-seat. The First Responders series is the first that I've read by Susan Sleeman but she's quickly become a favorite author over the five, out of six, books that I've read.
This series has focused on finding peace even through difficult circumstances. That search is something that I think we all identify with, even if we are probably not being chased or shot at. Susan Sleeman delivers some spiritual food for thought and encouragement in a small and entertaining package.
Christmas Conspiracy was an enjoyable fasted-paced read and a great choice for anyone who loves romantic suspense, especially if it's as much as I do.
(I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Debbie WilderSalinas, CAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Another incredible romantic suspense novel!January 4, 2017Debbie WilderSalinas, CAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is a stand-alone suspense story. The characters lives are moving right along though and if you read the series in order a number of the references to personal lives will make a lot more sense.
The characters in the book are as well developed as I expected them to be. I love the details that Susan Sleeman puts into each one of them and the way she brings characters from previous books into each additional story within a series.
I loved finding out so much about what makes the team leader, Jake Marsh, tick. He has a lot of personal heartache that has helped to shape him. I wanted so badly for him to work through his history and be able to move on with his life.
Rachael has a huge hole in her life that she is working hard to fill with her day-care-center. As I read the details of her pain and loss my heart broke for her. Now she needs to try and determine if that is how she is to fill it for the rest of her life.
I thoroughly enjoyed Rachaels belief in God. It was wonderful to find out how she has trusted Him to help her through past trials.

proudmom5085 Stars Out Of 5Great story, great series, hard to put down!December 7, 2016proudmom508Quality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Christmas Conspiracy is the last in the First Responders series and the story of its commander, Jake. Although it's part of a series, it can be read alone. I enjoyed all the books in this series and getting to know all the members of the First Responders Unit. In Christmas Conspiracy, Jake and day-care owner Rachel must protect baby Kelly from a kidnapper. The story was well-paced and hard to put down. I enjoyed figuring out who the kidnapper was and why. It was a great story and wonderful finish to a great series!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. The review is my honest opinion.
Michelle K5 Stars Out Of 5Well-written, Packed with Mystery and SuspenseDecember 6, 2016Michelle KQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5While I've been waiting since the beginning of this series to learn Jake's story, I'm sad to see the First Responders come to an end. I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all the team. I love the camaraderie they have. Each story has been so well-written, packed with mystery and suspense. Christmas Conspiracy was a great conclusion to the series.
Plot: When there's an intruder at Rachael Long's day care, she'll do anything to protect the baby that's currently in her care. The First Responders show up and team leader Jake Marsh is able to rescue Rachael and baby Kelly. While Rachael saw the attacker, she was drugged at the time and is unable to remember, but the attacker doesn't know she can't identify him. When Jake realizes Rachael's still in danger, he takes on the job of keeping her, Kelly, and Kelly's mother safe.
Characters: Rachael and Jake were both wounded. She lost her husband and unborn child and is reluctant to risk her heart again. Jake is still dealing with the guilt from an accident in his childhood, which makes him determined to be a protector. I loved how the author introduced several characters that all looked suspicious. It kept me guessing until the end.
Recommendation: I'd highly recommend this book, and the entire series, to anyone who enjoys a great inspirational suspense story. Sleeman always has great details to the investigation in her stories. I always enjoy how accurate they feel. While Christmas Conspiracy is the last book in the series, it can be read as a standalone.
