Christmas Breakthrough: Finding the Real Gifts of the Season

Christmas Breakthrough is a spiritual journey for Christians and seekers alike. It can be used during an Advent-Christmas season, because it goes by actual calendar dates rather than specific days of the week. At any time of the year when our lives are going in so many directions, it is more important than ever to recover what the Christmas season is really about. This book of daily meditations aims to help the reader do just that by focusing on this greatest breakthrough in human history.

Real Christmas doesn't just happen. We must prepare for it. The first part of the book takes you through the four weeks of Christmas preparations we call Advent (literally the "coming" of Christ), reaching sublime fulfillment on Christmas Eve with the birth of Jesus. The second section of meditations progresses from Christmas Day through the Twelve Days of Christmas (Christmastide). It concludes with the thirteenth day we call Epiphany (literally the "appearing"), referring to the light of a star that lit the way for the Magi. For us, as for them, it points to the light of Jesus - the unfailing Illuminator of our faith. Christmastide is not recovery time from our seasonal exhaustion.
