The Klavers1 Stars Out Of 5Consensus isn't Science; Science isn't ConsensusApril 23, 2016The KlaversQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The description of this book claims it to be a "luminous volume." It is anything but. This book begs Christians to reject the truths of Scripture in an attempt to marry these two opposing systems of belief and to "embrace the overall scientific consensus of the evolutionary approach." Allow me to educate you with a couple quotes from Michael Crichton:
"I want to pause here and talk about this notion of consensus, and the rise of what has been called consensus science. I regard consensus science as an extremely pernicious development that ought to be stopped cold in its tracks. Historically, the claim of consensus has been the first refuge of scoundrels; it is a way to avoid debate by claiming that the matter is already settled. Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you're being had.
Let's be clear: the work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus.
There is no such thing as consensus science. If it's consensus, it isn't science. If it's science, it isn't consensus. Period." ―Michael Crichton
"I would remind you to notice where the claim of consensus is invoked. Consensus is invoked only in situations where the science is not solid enough. Nobody says the consensus of scientists agrees that E=mc2. Nobody says the consensus is that the sun is 93 million miles away. It would never occur to anyone to speak that way." ―Michael Crichton
The theory of evolution has NO science to substantiate it. Zero, zilch, nada. It is a religion, it is philosophy, and it is a fairy tale for grownups. Look up the definitions of "science" and the "scientific method." If you CANNOT hypothesize it, test it, observe it, draw conclusions, and repeat the process, it is NOT science. To "go beyond science" is to enter into science fiction. Science DOES NOT and CANNOT answer everything, and frequently science is WRONG (look throughout history, including medicine).
If you're easily brainwashed by fallacious arguments and foolish rhetoric, then this book is for you. But if you're a genuine Christian who believes God at His word, then don't waste your money on this useless waste of good paper. There's nothing "orthodox" about the authors of this book. If you want a GOOD book, buy "The Evolution Handbook" by Vance Ferrell. It quotes from non-Christian and Christian scientists alike, disproving the entire theory of evolution at every level. The laws of our universe destroy evolution. The two Laws of Thermodynamics destroy the theory of evolution all on their own. If you want to believe that time, in place of a kiss, turned a frog into a prince, then go right ahead. Evolution is NOT science, and there is NOT A SHRED of scientific evidence to support it. It is believed by faith. The fact this book claims "scientific consensus" is proof enough that the authors' "science" is not solid.
