A riveting journey through Christianity using the analytical lenses of a former atheist and L.A. County homicide detective!Christianity, with all of its claims coule easily be described as a "cold-case"; a case for which insufficient hard evidence exists to make any sound conclusions about its truth claims. However, in Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally acclaimed skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. He includes gripping stories from his career and the visual and interrogation techniques he developed in while a police officer. Along the way, he uses analogy and anecdotes to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity. A unique apologetic that speaks to readers' intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.

Written by an L. A. County homicide detective and former atheist, Cold-Case Christianity examines the claims of the New Testament using the skills and strategies of a hard-to-convince criminal investigator.
Christianity could be defined as a "cold case": it makes a claim about an event from the distant past for which there is little forensic evidence. In Cold-Case Christianity, J. Warner Wallace uses his nationally recognized skills as a homicide detective to look at the evidence and eyewitnesses behind Christian beliefs. Including gripping stories from his career and the visual techniques he developed in the courtroom, Wallace uses illustration to examine the powerful evidence that validates the claims of Christianity.
A unique apologetic that speaks to readers intense interest in detective stories, Cold-Case Christianity inspires readers to have confidence in Christ as it prepares them to articulate the case for Christianity.
J. Warner Wallace is a cold case homicide detective, a missions leader, and a church planter. As a result of his work with cold cases, Wallace has been featured on numerous television programs including Dateline, FOX News and Court TV. Wallaces visual presentations in the courtroom have revolutionized how capital offense trials are presented in Los Angeles County and across the country.A vocal atheist for many years, Wallace is now an apologist for Christianity and the founder of the PleaseConvinceMe.com blog and podcast with a masters degree in theology. He and his wife have four children and live in southern California.
"My friend Jim Wallace was an angry atheist for 35 years until he walked through the doors of Saddleback Church. There his life was radically changed by Jesus. Today, Jim is one of the most thoughtful and winsome apologists for the Gospel I know. Cold Case Christianity is literally packed with insights to share with the skeptics in your life and this book will give you the confidence to share it!"

The Investigative Detective approach adds a new dimension for the seekers who need to see a logical and rational explanation for the veracity of the Jesus story similar to 'proof" that would be required in any "secular" courtroom today. The first half of the book concentrates on the methodology of deductive research with many "real" examples from Mr Wallace's life as a detective. Personally I enjoyed the second half much more which concentrated more directly and deeply on the examination of the Gospels, with lots of new evidence which I had not discovered elsewhere.Overall a great read!

I have been reading books on apologetics from all different authors over the course of the last 8 years. I thought I had exhausted the topic and I would wait impatiently for a new title from someone whom I had already discovered, hoping it would be something new to the realm of apologetics. Thanks to the movie Gods Not Dead 2 not only have I found a new line of determining the evidence, I have discovered a new author. I cant wait to get Mr. Wallace's other works, the one finished and those in process.
Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Using the methods of a detective to examine the gospelsAugust 21, 2016Debbie from ChristFocusHarrison, ARAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"Cold-Case Christianity" looks at the claims of the gospels from the point of view of a cold case detective. The author looked at many "lines of evidence" as he examined the gospels, and I felt he did an excellent job of explaining how he came to his conclusions. He even covered some angles that I haven't read before and which I found very interesting.
He began by using examples of various cases he's worked on to show how a detective examines evidence. He then applied these methods to the evidence surrounding the claims of the gospels. Then he looked at some of the evidence in greater detail. He looked at when the gospels were written, if they are eyewitness accounts, if they are accurate, how well these accounts have been preserved over time, what the motive was behind writing the gospels, and how much evidence is "enough."
I wouldn't hesitate to give this book to anyone who is uncertain about the gospels or who likes to debate these issues. This book will especially appeal to those who are interested in detective work.
