This was my first book on the topic of apologetics. Wallace took an approach that kept me interested the entire read. I feel better equipped to defend the Gospels and speak the truth having read this book.

I've worked probation settings for over 10 years and have written over 1000 pre-sentence investigation reports that are used in sentencing hearings by DA's, judges etc. Part of a pre-sentence report includes a summary statement on the offense made up of police reports, detective reports, witness statements, social service statements, victim statements,& the perpetrator statement. What this book does, is truly explain the methodology used by professionals in making sense of these statements & reports and how we summarize the events in a cogent, consistent manner that stands up in court.

Funny, is that for years a co-worker and I would comment that the Gospels read better than the eye witness testimonies that we read daily. Guys, I spent three years reading and reviewing material trying to see if the Bible was accurately passed on. For me, the Bible is God-inspired and true and I only discovered layer upon layer of evidence. Even Bart Ehrman acknowledges that the present Bible is pretty much what the ancients wrote down.

As an experienced court official, the quality of the Gospels as eye-witness testimony is unmatched when compared to what law enforcement works with. As far as apologetics goes, I'm not sure how a skeptic or atheist would counter this book. But if I, a lifelong believer, can honestly explore the other side, to include becoming fluent in science, you should too. This book needs to be explored.

Although I am still reading this book, I have to share that this is a one of the best books around to address the veracity of the Gospel writers! The author, who was an atheist and is now a Christian, uses methods that he has applied to "cold" homicide cases to show how the writers of the Gospels are believable and true in their writings of what they heard and experienced during their time with Jesus, including his death and Resurrection. I look forward every night to read another chapter of his book. I think you will, too.

Have you ever served on a Jury? This book puts you on one. Cold Case Christianity is written by a Los Angeles homicide detective. His book examines the Case for the Authenticity of the Gospels and the Bible. He lays out the evidence, and teaches you how to evaluate it. Will You Convict or Acquit?

For the non believer there may never be "enough evidence", but that claim aside, can we verify the Historical Eyewitness Accounts that are the premise of our Christian Faith? Can we prove these things beyond a Reasonable doubt? Can we show the non believer that the evidence we have is sufficient?

Cold Case Christianity examines whether the evidence was handled with care. What was the "chain of custody?" Were the Gospels a fabrication? A conspiracy based on power, money or prestige?

Did all the Disciples corroborate the story?

    J. Warner Wallace says No. So many people will not stick to a lie. All the Disciples, other than John, died a martyr's death but none of them recanted their story to save their lives.

Examine the dates, times, and people and what do you say? Men and Women of the Jury, Has J. Warner Wallace convinced you?

    J. Warner Wallace worked as a police officer, a detective, and then a cold case detective. Relying on his experience, he examines first the evidence that God exists, and then he turns to the eyewitness accounts of the life of Jesus. He explains the reasoning behind the techniques that a detective utilizes to examine evidence, even examines what qualifies to utilize as evidence. The book is thoroughly researched and cited, as are documents used in a court of law. Use this book when you need solid information to answer someone who is questioning or give it to someone who could benefit from the over whelming evidence of the existence of God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
