We bought this book for a small group study. In today's ever secularized world it takes some work to overcome the prevalent idea in society and academia that either God does not exist or that Jesus was not his son. Yet a careful and openminded examination of the evidence leads to the opposite conclusions. Using the same process applied to solving murders this book helps truth seekers and those wishing to bring others to Christianity. It is a fabulous resource!

An excellent resource that compiles all of the evidence for the accuracy and truth of the Gospels in one location. Mr. Warner is very good at weaving the analysis of the facts into a compelling book. I appreciated the foundation for his reasoning and logic early in the book. It provides a road map for how he analyzed the information for himself. The evidence as portrayed by Mr. Wallace is compelling and led him to reject his Atheism and turn to Christ. I did not come to the book as an Atheist, but as a believer who wanted a better grasp of the evidence and documentation for the Gospels in order to better refute the case that many make against the Gospels. I think all believers need to engage with the evidence for the truth of the Gospels and push back against an Atheist narrative that quite often goes unchallenged in our culture. When you do engage people on the evidence it is funny at times how shocked Christians are when they realize how much evidence is out there. That is a mark against us as believers, we need to educate ourselves and be prepared for any opportunity to sow some seeds of doubt in the non-believer's mind, a seed that may one day lead them to Christianity.

I very much enjoyed this book having learned about J Warner Wallace from the movie God's not dead (2).

The Investigative Detective approach adds a new dimension for the seekers who need to see a logical and rational explanation for the veracity of the Jesus story similar to 'proof" that would be required in any "secular" courtroom today. The first half of the book concentrates on the methodology of deductive research with many "real" examples from Mr Wallace's life as a detective. Personally I enjoyed the second half much more which concentrated more directly and deeply on the examination of the Gospels, with lots of new evidence which I had not discovered elsewhere.Overall a great read!

What a fabulous book. I have been reading books on apologetics from all different authors over the course of the last 8 years. I thought I had exhausted the topic and I would wait impatiently for a new title from someone whom I had already discovered, hoping it would be something new to the realm of apologetics. Thanks to the movie Gods Not Dead 2 not only have I found a new line of determining the evidence, I have discovered a new author. I cant wait to get Mr. Wallace's other works, the one finished and those in process.

"Cold-Case Christianity" looks at the claims of the gospels from the point of view of a cold case detective. The author looked at many "lines of evidence" as he examined the gospels, and I felt he did an excellent job of explaining how he came to his conclusions. He even covered some angles that I haven't read before and which I found very interesting.

He began by using examples of various cases he's worked on to show how a detective examines evidence. He then applied these methods to the evidence surrounding the claims of the gospels. Then he looked at some of the evidence in greater detail. He looked at when the gospels were written, if they are eyewitness accounts, if they are accurate, how well these accounts have been preserved over time, what the motive was behind writing the gospels, and how much evidence is "enough."

I wouldn't hesitate to give this book to anyone who is uncertain about the gospels or who likes to debate these issues. This book will especially appeal to those who are interested in detective work.
