Tell us a little about yourself. I am a 6th generation Texan and a Christian for forty-one years. Born in Center, Texas at the close of WWII in 1945. I had pastored for eight years before becoming involved in the full-time ministry of teaching school. My family (wife and children) and I have resided in the Houston area since 1989.
What was your motivation behind this project? After serving for many years as a teacher and principal with a Bible-centered Christian school and witnessing damaging attitudes and actions carried out by teachers, I became burdened concerning the need for Christian educators to commit to and faithfully follow God's biblically-based blueprint for teachers that is modeled by the Master Teacher Himself.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? This text is truly a must read for all who aspire to serve God effectively in the school classroom. The manuscript is intended to both encourage and challenge Christian teachers as they follow the biblical principles rooted in the teaching ministry of the Master Teacher, Christ Jesus the Lord.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? From the research and observations made during the completion of the work, I was enabled to see my own shortcomings regarding fulfilling the responsibilities of teaching biblically and effectively. I have become a much improved model for the Master Teacher's work.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? There is no doubt in my heart and mind that God, through His Word and Spirit, is the Primary inspiration and influence regarding motivation, empowerment, and guide in producing this text.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: This work is not intended solely for Christian school teachers, but is equally essential for administrators, staff, and parents of the students. Parents, who have entrusted their children to particular schools and teachers, should know the expectations of God for educators. They should be informed, thus equipped, to recognize in the teacher, a pattern harmonious with God's biblical blueprint.
