Linger on the hill of Calvary.
Rub a finger on the timber and press the nail into your hand.
Taste the tinge of cheap wine and feel the scrape of a thorn on your brow.
Touch the velvet dirt, moist with the blood of God.
Allow the tools of torture to tell their story.
Listen as they tell you what God did to win your heart.
More than 120 million readers have found inspiration and encouragement in the writings of Max Lucado. He lives with his wife, Denalyn, and their mischievous mutt, Andy, in San Antonio, Texas, where he serves the people of Oak Hills Church.
Jim5 Stars Out Of 5Great BooklOctober 25, 2016JimQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0I enjoyed this book from cover to cover. There is no other love that can replace this love that he Jesus Christ would take upon himself and die for our sins, that we have eternity live through his shed blood for us. That he die, resurrected and ascended to haven to send his helper the Holy Spirit to dwell within us.

Josh PhelpsBerea, KyAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5September 11, 2012Josh PhelpsBerea, KyAge: 35-44Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Max Lucado has always been able to grab my attention with his writing style. He Chose the Nails was the same way. This book goes into details about the symbolism of the cross, from the soldiers spit, to the crown, to the sign on the cross, as well as the two other crosses, the nails and a few other things, the thought process walks us to the rest of the title, "What God did to Win Your Heart."
This book really paints a picture of how much God loved us and what He was willing to do for us. The love that the cross shows comes out in this short, fifteen chapter, easy to read book. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the crucifixion.
This book is a good read, not only for a new Christian but also for those who are ready for a fresh perspective, or those who need a new look at the cross. A device meant for torture, God used to bring us to Him.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is struggling with the love of God. This book will lead you to open your eyes and realize the true meaning of the title of the book.
