Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  Christian. Wife. Mother. Writer. Speaker. I consider all my life before or after 1985 when I became a believer and old things went away and new things came! I had left my husband, but the Lord showed me I needed to return. The Lord allowed me to be transformed, and gave me a second chance at my marriage.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Elisabeth Elliot had me on her radio program over a decade before I wrote the book, telling me afterwards that I needed to write a book, giving all the stories I gave while on her program for 3 days because I had a story to tell of God's grace and a platform she didn't have. I was super busy with 3 small children, not knowing #4 would be born totally blind the following year. Ten years after her suggestion, I wrote the first words. It took me 1 and one half years to write it when my family was asleep mostly. It took me over a year to get a Christian agent after numerous rejections. It took over 2 years to get a publisher after even more rejections. It took my wonderful Christian Publisher, Ambassador International, one year to publish it, and I held my first copy in my hand last month, ten years after my burning desire became a reality to share out story to help other people grow in their faith and marriages.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Hope and proof that Christ changes lives and marriages and the importance of having a godly mentor. Much teaching and practical help also given in the book. I also hope they will laugh and cry while reading!

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Elisabeth Elliot, Hannah W. Smith, Oswald Chambers, and Macon & Paul Newby

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I pray that God will be glorified as you read the book, and that you will have hope, your marriage strengthened, and practical help for everyday life.
