Abby Johnson3 Stars Out Of 5Lovely Read/Disappointing VisuallyJune 27, 2020Abby JohnsonValue: 3This is a lovely book to read and discuss with your children! However, I was really disappointed that the pictures are mostly printed in black and white. The cover is very attractive, and I was surprised that the inside of this book didn't match the same visually.
After reading the wonderful text, there just isn't enough pictures to help express a visual understanding for my kids.
The only reason I gave it three stars was the visual aspect of this book, and the fact I feel it's a bit overpriced. The pages are thin, and printed mostly in black and white. -

Anne Voskamp has presented an introduction to geography that's very easy to read and discuss. But I was disappointed because at that price, I expected a thick hardcover. It is actually a very thin paperback. Also, it comes with a CD-ROM full of printable activites which are essential to the lesson plans, and no print shop will print them because there's no copyright permission granted. One print shop told me if they had been able to print it, it would cost quite a bit for each set of printables! I think at the price we paid for the book it should have come with the consumables allready printed. I would have returned the product if my son hadn't spilled grape juice on it!

BeckyBakersfield, CAAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5A Great Way Teach GeographySeptember 13, 2011BeckyBakersfield, CAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4My 3 children (ages 12, 10, 4) and I have only completed the first chapter, but I am really enjoying the activities and discussions we have had so far. Even though the girls are at different levels, they have all been able to participate. They all enjoyed looking at bird's-eye view pictures of the world and making a postcard of what they saw - a suggested project after reading chapter one. I would love it if the book had more color photographs to show them as we read - instead we used the internet to enhance their learning visually. I love that they will learn not only geography, but will also have a biblical view of the world God made and will be encouraged to consider and pray for all the other people who inhabit earth.
