I actually purchased this book through the publishing company. I usually try to find bargains or used books if I can

but I paid full price and it was worth it. Children of the Covered Wagon is a great book for learning about the journey on the Oregon trail. While it is a fictional account, it is a wonderful learning tool about what people really experienced back in that day. It is not for the very young or children who might get upset if animals or people die. It's about things that really happened back then. There is also mention of real places and people from that era. We had fun looking up places mentioned on the internet. We plan to also look up some of the people as well. (We're not even finished yet!) I like it better than the Dear America series as faith in God is important in this story. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in studying this time period or as a great read anytime. So far most of the books we've gotten by CLP have been quality books for our homeschool.
