Equips parents to teach their children how to make sexuality a safe, healthy, and sacred part of their lives.
How parents address sextheir openness, the context, and their attitudeswill impact how their children view their own sexuality and self-worth. Dr. Chirban helps parents know when, how, and how much, and stresses the vital importance of their role in sex education. He uses humor, compassion, and real-life examples to prepare parents for healthy and ongoing conversations that equips their kids to own their own sexuality and provide an understanding of the larger issues of relationships, love, commitment, and intimacy. In addition, parents discover how helping their children grasp these veiled yet critical keys to a fulfilling life deepens their own connection with their children.
With specific helps for children from birth through young adult, Dr. Chirban provides context for what needs to be communicated at each stage of their development as well as tips for the inevitable surprise questions. Kellen T5 Stars Out Of 5Making that awkward conversation bearableJuly 1, 2017Kellen TQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I'm a single father of three kids, two of which are teens. I avoided talking to my kids about "it," yet when I realized time was ticking, I went to the bookstore to get advice about how to manage this conversation in a respectful and noninvasive manner. Dr. Chirban's book really helped me make a smooth transition for my teens into young adulthood--discussing the not so easy conversations.

My big take-away, however, is the depth and sensitivity Dr. Chirban details for establishing a loving relationship with your kid that creates the foundation for any issue, including the many tough topics of sexuality. His high regard for spirituality comes through what he writes and his experiences with his kids are moving, heartfelt, and convincing. I also loved the humor, current events references, and emphasis on values throughout the book.

I loved the specific guidance that Dr. Chirban provides for understanding sexuality at various stages of growth for children and teens and the wonderful suggestions he offers to make a difference. This book impressively weaves the role of spiritual awareness and insight with the realities of physical, emotional, and social issues unlike anything I've read before--though I've searched for extensively. With warmth and humor this author wins my vote!
JoannaFeildsPittsburgh, PAAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Spiritually Sensitive and Solid SupportAugust 11, 2012JoannaFeildsPittsburgh, PAAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We always says that God blesses sexuality and that sexuality is good--but there's a huge golf between that ideal and what parents have to deal with the nitty-gritty of really working with sexuality in their kids' lives. I loved this book. It is warm, frank, clear, and very spiritually sensitive to the values that seem at odds with most of what we see in the media about sex. This book gives parents needed support. While I thought I had it pretty much under control and was just tweaking my kniowledge and stance, I found myself nodding as the author was saying what I wasn't expressing to my kids but what is in my heart.
