Ebos Aifuobhokhan5 Stars Out Of 5Profund and heart wrenching.July 13, 2021Ebos AifuobhokhanQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I thought my heart would fly out my mouth while reading this book. Amazing, heart wrenching, touching and profound story. I am not a fan of war stories but I got an ARC of this to read and review and I am grateful I did.
The book was centered around the lives of Avi, Miram, Ans, Herman, Elosie, Lena, Pieter, Erik and a couple of other who were Jews and Jew's sympathisers who worked the resistance during the Nazi persecution of the Jews and invasion of Europe. I saw characters live of the words of scriptures with so much sacrifice.
This was my first time of really reading about the events that took place during the Nazi war and the horrors millions went through.
I love how the author wove a compelling tale of faith and trails in life's most dire situations.
The stories wrenched my heart, kept me captivated. The characters were amazing, strong and wonderful.
I loved every bit of this book.
It answered the question "What would I do when faced with persecution as a child of God"?
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.

Suzanne Sellner5 Stars Out Of 5Opportunities to Aid the ResistanceJuly 13, 2021Suzanne SellnerQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5While history abounds in this WWII novel set in The Netherlands, the story lines are magnificent! A young farm woman seeks independence and leaves farm life for a job in the city of Leiden, her family that stay on their farm encounter plenty of opportunities to aid the resistance, and a Jewish father and daughter leave Cologne, Germany, to escape persecution and settle in Leiden only to face persecution once more. The courage of the non-Jews and Jews alike is inspiring and encouraging during this dark oppression by the Nazis. I highly recommend this novel to all interested in reading/learning about the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands.
