KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Romantic Suspense with an Irish FlairFebruary 6, 2018KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Romantic suspense with an Irish flair? I am so in! (And kudos to the author for getting the Irish accent right. Scottish and Irish aren't interchangeable, just so you know.)
I'm sad that this is the last of the Elite Guardians series -- love these kick-butt heroines who don't wait to be rescued, though they are smart enough to accept backup when necessary. And Steven fits the bill perfectly -- in both the official and romantical departments.:-) I'm still giddy thinking about Steven and Haley. Eason has a marvelous talent for developing believable romance in the midst of the chaos danger brings. It never feels hurried and there are some great soul bearing scenes as well as faith building ones.
The suspense is sublimely complicated. Enough to make an armchair sleuth's head spin. Just when I thought I was onto something...I wasn't. I love when a suspense plot keeps me on my toes right to the very end and this one sure did! And a wide range of secondary characters liven things up all the more making this a seriously rabid-page-turning read.
Though Chasing Secrets is the last book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone. However, if you're an Elite Bodyguard fan you'll enjoy the amount of 'page time' previous heroines and heroes receive in this final story. And the epilogue is sweet perfection!
crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5I highly recommend this series!!September 29, 2017crtnybcBritish Columbia, CanadaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This series just keeps getting better and better! I wasn't completely sold on the first book, but I enjoyed #2 and #3 and I love this one! This is another creative storyline that takes you out of the usual but is still believable. Right off the bat it grabbed my full attention when it started out in modern day ... in a castle! What?? Awesome.
I love the characters of Haley and Steven, and I appreciate that the romance aspect does not overpower the rest of the story. Not to say it isn't there, but there's much more to this book than simply that. The suspense is high, the plot thick, it's wonderfully written and you won't want to put it down. I highly recommend this entire series as it's best to start at the beginning and in my opinion each book so far is better than the one before it so you will have that to look forward to, or perhaps you will have a different favourite set of characters because that's really what I think it comes down to.

Not much action. Mostly went on and on and on about how they solve old missing persons cases; all about evidence collecting, etc.
Nicole Sneed5 Stars Out Of 5Simply Wonderful!September 8, 2017Nicole SneedQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This is my favorite book of the four book series. Not only is it full of suspense and romantic overtones, the reuniting of family members, and the compassion shown with the adoption of two orphaned brothers. God truly puts the lonely in families. Well done Eason!!
Martha Artyomenko4 Stars Out Of 5Nailing biting...September 2, 2017Martha ArtyomenkoQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4As always, Lynette Eason delivers a fast moving suspense novel that will keep you holding your breath.
What is not to love, women that are bodyguards? Then a grandfather than owns a castle? Death stalking you on every corner, gunshots, knife wounds? This book is full of them.
While probably not the most realistic, I loved how this story brought out about children that end up in bad situations because of how life has been for them. Haley and the street children story that was told in small bits and pieces throughout it really brought it home.
Book #4? I hope there are more to come in this series!
