Mrs ARS5 Stars Out Of 5Can't get enough of this series!August 21, 2017Mrs ARSQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5We have now come to Haley's story in this impressive and my favorite romantic suspense series with a truly unique theme- a group of bodyguards made up with some really tough women, with the exception of Charlie the only male team member. This was another jam packed, action and adrenaline filled episode of the Elite Guardians. I have read this series from the start and each story is unique with the very high value of the team and their familial like relationships with each other.
Haley, in my viewpoint, was always ready to do what was asked and no matter the danger stepped in. We get to have her story this time and what makes her tick. Hailey's love for the underprivileged kids and her wanting to keep them off the streets giving them opportunities for a better life really gave a softer edge to her tough as nails personality. She has always been the team member with the secrets that surrounded her. We finally get to know those secrets along with uncovering Haley's past that she was not entirely aware of. There definitely was a lot going on and along with Haley, the mystery really kept us all on our toes with all these threads that seemed unrelated yet Haley had to watch her back at all times.
We also get to meet Steven, Quinn's new partner and a possible love interest for Haley, who is dealing with deep issues concerning forgiveness and hate. I have highly enjoyed this series and I wish this was not the end. I hope that in the future we get Charlie's story and I bet the new bodyguards have some interesting tales to tell as well. Kudos to the design team on these amazing covers; they are my favorite for a suspense series. So much personality packed into each one.

Carol GehringerRaleigh, NCAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5A WINNING CONCLUSIONAugust 20, 2017Carol GehringerRaleigh, NCAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Award-winning author Lynette Eason concludes her romantic suspense series about an agency of female bodyguards.
In Chasing Secrets, Elite Guardian Haley Callaghan is a survivor of the streets. She channels that into her competence as a bodyguard. All of a sudden, Haleys life is in danger when a cold case takes her from South Carolina to Ireland. What happens when the bodyguard needs a bodyguard?
Detective Steven Rothwell accompanies her, as they chase down the secrets of her past. Steven is intrigued by Haley, but who has time for romance when lives are on the line? Who is preventing her from uncovering the truth with those attempts on their lives? Will they unravel the family secrets before it is too late?
Eason is an excellent storyteller, weaving plot twists along with her development of complex characters. Violence in the story is appropriate but not too graphic. The book grabs the readers attention from the very beginning. The clean romance develops at a realistic pace, and faith elements are present but not overpowering. The theme of forgiveness and letting go of bitterness is central to this book. The plot twists will keep the reader guessing until the very end.

Now her past is threatening to kill her and Haley is struggling to stay one step head of the killer and keep those she loves safe. Steven moved home to be near his deathly ill father. When he meets Haley he feels an instant connection that has nothing to do with her beauty or position as a body guard. He joins the race to find out her secrets in time to save her.
I've enjoyed all of Ms. Eason's books, but I think this one was my favorite. The book begins with a dramatic start and doesn't let up the entire book. It brings all of the other characters from previous books into the plot, but could definitely be read as a stand alone. I would recommend reading the others first though. You won't be disappointed. The author has a way with words that bring out the suspense and drama of the moment. She's also good at the romance part. The chemistry was great with the two characters and fit well with the story. Loved this book and can't wait to get her next one.

Lynette Eason's final Elite Guardians novel has it all.
When I open a novel by Lynette Eason I take a deep breath, knowing it may be a while before I take another one, and Chasing Secrets definitely stretched my lung capacity! Eason immediately plunges the reader into the emotion and danger of this story and doesn't let up until the final page is turned. Each time I endeavored to stop at the end of a chapter, I found it impossible to set it aside. Filled with characters I either liked or suspected (sometimes at the same time!) as well as unrelenting action and a decades-old mystery, Chasing Secrets kept me up until the wee hours. I'm usually pretty good at sniffing out the culprit but Eason surprised me once again. A phenomenal finale to an outstanding series, I heartily recommend it as well as the previous (standalone but connected) novels. Chasing Secrets is a great way to wind down your summer reading list!

Just Commonly5 Stars Out Of 5Fabulous and thrilling!August 19, 2017Just CommonlyQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0Chasing secrets can be exhausting, but Chasing Secrets by Lynette Eason, Book 4 of the Elite Guardians series is thrilling and exasperatingly good. So good, I wish there was more.
Ever since I read the first book, Always Watching, I've been intrigued with Haley Callaghan. She's tough, smart and loyal. Her compassion for the underprivileged and homeless drives her. In this book, we get to understand her on a broader level. Her past, her hurts, and her loves. She is tenacious, strong and o so funny with her Irish brogue. I really loved reading about her. The first reaction doesnt compare to getting to know her in her very own story! And detective Steven Rothwell backs her up.
I also enjoyed the girl comraderie we see with the rest of the group at Elite Guardians. I love seeing repeat characters back. The team spirit has such a strong presence with a great message for fellowship. Speaking of message, the message of forgiveness, not only of others but of self really hits home. Satisfying in its plot and closure for the group, but giving hope for the future.
In all, Chasing Secrets hits all the right notes with suspense, romance, characters and a strong message. I will miss the Elite Guardians but will look forward to the author's new series, Blue Justice, coming 2018.
