Nicole5 Stars Out Of 5We can all be fruitful, we matter, and we are so loved.February 4, 2020NicoleEvery time I read a book by Beth Moore or complete one of her Bible studies, it's exactly what I need when I need it, and her latest book, "Chasing Vines" is no exception! This book delves into the imagery of vines and fruitfulness mentioned throughout the Bible and connects the dots from Old Testament to New Testament, with Jesus as the living vine we abide IN, and with the overarching message that WE MATTER. I'm concurrently reading Malcolm Gladwell's latest and can't help but notice that Moore goes deep into scripture the way Gladwell goes deep into his subject matter - never settling for surface understanding but thoroughly exploring the Scriptures and what they mean on a practical level for ordinary people. I think of her like a "Texan Gladwell" patiently explaining the vine and fruitfulness with the knowledge of an expert and the patience of my dearest friend who loves me too much not to share the life-changing truths she has discovered in the Living Word. Her passion is contagious. The book, because it points to the Word, is inevitably convicting but I am ready to ask myself, Is what I'm doing bearing good fruit? I have studied the Bible for years but "Chasing Vines" has brought new perspective and understanding to familiar passages. I finally understand unequivocally what is good fruit and what is bad fruit. I have so many passages in the book underlined and highlighted. I was moved to tears more than once and laughed out loud throughout the book! YES we need to read the Bible directly but "Chasing Vines" brings my experience with the Word and with Jesus to a deeper level. This is a book I will return to over and over throughout my life. I highly recommend it and not just for Bible ladies. There is something for everyone no matter what spiritual stage you are at or what you believe.

Annette5 Stars Out Of 5Watching Things GrowJanuary 17, 2020AnnetteQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5"God likes watching things grow" was a refrain that was echoed over and over again in Beth Moore's new book Chasing Vines: Finding Your Way to an Immensely Fruitful Life. What began as a once in a lifetime trip to Tuscany with her grown daughters, ignited a passion for the fruit of the vine as never before in Mrs. Moore's life. She chased the metaphor of vines, vineyard, grapes, and wine through the Bible to discover that the heart of our Father is really the heart of a farmer who wants his branches to bear much fruit.
Chasing Vines is a beautiful mix of scripture, viticulture, and life experiences. Beth Moore takes us from the soil where God first breathed life into man to the final feast of the Lamb. Anchored in John 15, she describes how the vine provides life for the branches and how the vinedresser does what is best to produce abundant fruit. Nothing is left out in the process done by our loving Vinedresser as he removes the right rocks, picks the best hill, prunes us, makes sure our soil is correct, fertilizes, and then celebrates with us in the harvest.
